And food-wise guests are in for a big treat :) Alix and Brice really created something with character and we are coming back a 1000%, if we are ever in colombia again. Set in Minca, 24 km from Santa Marta, Reserva Natural Tierra Adentro offers free WiFi. Each unit features a terrace with mountain views, and a private bathroom with shower. We loved everything about the property. The location is absolutely breathtaking. The mountains, the jungle, the impressive amount of beautiful birds, the milder temperature and everything about this place is just unbelievable; like a dream come true. The reserve has different cabanas located alongside the mountain side. They’re all quaint, unique and full of charm. Every single part of the location is well taken care of. The staff is hard working, kind and always ready to offer help with whatever is crossing your mind at the moment. We had certain issues regarding our room at first and they moved heaven and earth so we could be more comfortable and happy. Greys has always a smile on her face and was always there for us same as the rest of her team. Food was very good, breakfast was wholesome and delicious. Their menu is varied and with plenty of options, although we would’ve liked to have more local dishes. Can’t talk about food or kitchen without mentioning Carlitos, the guy is a genius, everything he made was well seasoned, yummy and plentiful. We can’t recommend him enough, if he’s cooking the day you’re there, you’re in for a treat. And last but not least, we loved all the extra activities you can do while in the reserve, there are cacao tours (super informative and yummy), coffee tours and several waterfalls in the vicinity. We were never bored although you could always stay on one of the multiple hammocks that there are throughout the property and relax listening to the the birds, looking at the stunning sunsets or just enjoying your favorite book.

Hostal Agroturistico ecológico is a country house located in Guachaca. Complimentary private parking is available on site. The property is 9 km from Parque Nacional Tayrona. The environment and the Host were very friendly

Posada la Ofelia is situated in El Trompito, 31 km from Santa Marta. There is a restaurant and guests can have fun at the games room. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. Amazing location at the end of the road, so peaceful. Comfy bed with mosquito net provided, extremely friendly hosts, only 3 rooms so max 6 people staying there which makes it that bit more friendly and personal. Surrounded by nature. Shop and restaurants maybe 15 mins walk away on the main road with the option to eat at Ofelia too. Just perfect!

Situated in Santa Marta, at the top of a mountain and 1,6 km from Pozos Colorados Beach, this detached holiday home features a terrace and a garden with an outdoor pool. It was the complete house. Very clean room and room service was very fast and the food was delicious. Deymer the manager was very accommodating. I had left my passport in my room after I left for Santa Marta and he organised a taxi to drop it to my new hostel. Excellent stay at Buricata Hostel and I would definitely recommend.
