Raise your wine glass and toast to the beautiful city of Bordeaux on the banks of the Garonne River. Having produced wine since the 8th century, it’s fair to say the second largest wine producer in the world is worth the trip for the vin alone. The city itself has spread outwards, rather than upwards, and the result is a very pretty town centre, filled with stone mansions and terraced housing comparable to Paris.
Cultured Bordeaux is filled with museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art and Musee D'Aquitaine. The streets provide an equally interesting exhibition of fine architecture including the Victory Arch and the Aquitaine Bridge.
On the shores of the river lies the Les Chartrons district, which is a blend of ferry boat rides, picturesque views and buzzing nightlife while the pubs and cafes in the La Victoire district are frequented by students.
A tour of the famous vineyards is probably on the itinerary and this can be accomplished by visiting the wineries and châteaux privately or as part of a tour. You can also worship the wine gods at the Bordeaux Wine Festival held during the summer.
Visitors can easily make the short trip to the heart of Bordeaux from the Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport. With 70 hotels and bed & breakfasts available, Booking.com allows you to discover the vibrant and friendly heart of the vineyard region.

We stayed in the heart of the city and there is so much to explore. Round every corner there seemed to be yet another square or narrow street, lined with cafes and restaurants. A visit to an art gallery was worthwhile. Good transport from the airport and around the city via trams. We didn't plan to do very much apart from wander around, explore and eat out. Deux Pieces Cuisine restaurant was very good. Worked perfectly for us although there are many more things you could do: take wine, food and city tours. Watch out for the crazy traffic / cycle / e-scooters. Green crossing signs don't always mean it's safe to cross! Never saw and accident but if you don't know how it works then it could be tricky. Everyone seemed very relaxed though, not a high pressure, stressy city.

A fascinating city packed with interesting places to see.
A fascinating city packed with interesting places to see. A wonderful place for immersing in rich cultural and architectural history as well as for experiencing vibrant shopping areas, and many enticing restaurants and bars that burst out into a colourful and dynamic city street life. Wine of course is a key ingredient and the local beers too deserve an honourable mention. The tram service is a fantastic asset for the city - it is convenient, efficient and so simple to use

Beautiful city, steeped in culture, art, and great architecture. Felt very welcome there in all places. Magnificent public transport options, especially the tram which can bring you all around the city and provides an excellent link between City and Airport. Apart from its rich wine history and culture, there are so many other great reasons to visit Bordeaux and I highly recommend a visit to this must-see European city!

Beautiful city, really easy to get around.
Beautiful city, really easy to get around. Walking is easy plus trams for longer distances. The residents are very helpful, no high rise buildings so the sky line is stunning. Lots of museums to visit, if you like steaks then head to Entrecote outside the Opera House, you can't book and queues are legendary but so are the steaks. Also pop in to the roof top bar on top of the Inter Continental opposite the Opera House, for drinks and snacks, it is great. Opens at 12 noon. And defo take the train, bus or a wine tour to St Emillion, it is half an hour away by train and it is so beautiful
A great place for a day of sightseeing in Bordeaux. We arrived by car, which we could park for 12 EUR /day in front of the hotel on a secure parking. We walked to the city centre (15-20 min walk), the neighbourhood of the hotel is quite and safe. The staff was extremely friendly, the receptionist provided us with tips, a map, and all the info about the city we needed (in English). The room was cosy and clean, with a really comfortable bed. Would recommend.
I had a wonderful stay here. I had a long flight and slept in past check out and the staff was so generous and understanding. They had a very comfortable room and bed (hence the sleeping in!) and a great area to work and have a coffee in the lobby and they filled up my water bottle upon request. I tried to change my booking at another hotel for my way back through Bordeaux but they were booked. Highly recommend this hotel!
THE PLACE TO STAY IN BORDEAUX!!! Felt as if we were in a castle. Beautiful property. Luxurious and spacious room. Quiet street in the center of Bordeaux that shielded is from any noise. The staff is what makes the Yndo Hotel most memorable. We were treated like family and had EVERY request attended to. Cannot wait to visit again and stay on this beautiful property!
Amazing staff who made us feel totally at home. Friendly and courteous at all stages. This is more a b&b than hotel as no reception desk etc but all the better for that!
Great location for city centre, trams and local park
Had pool to ourselves when used it after a day of walking Bordeaux!
Simple tasty breakfast and unlimited coffee in the morning!
Cleanliness was superb. The room was a good size for two people and very comfortable. The breakfast, although not extensive, was lovely with healthy products throughout. The location is just 6 stops from the city centre and the tram is across the street from the aparthotel. Staff are very friendly, speak English and helpful. A very good choice.
Great location and so easy to get to from the airport. Tram is right outside the airport and stops at Meriadeck, just yards from the hotel, it couldn't be easier. Staff were great, really friendly and extremely helpful. We were given an upgrade on arrival which was a real bonus. Great location to explore the whole of Bordeaux.
The hotel is very clean, comfortable and great for families.Check in n check out was very smooth. The bus and trams can be picked up very closeby...and very easy to reach city centre .Few restaurants closeby . Groceries also available closeby.Airport just about 20 mins by car.
perfect location to walk into town and see what Bordeaux has to offer, also 2 minutes to the train station to visit much more of France. lovely clean hotel with incredibly friendly stag, check in/out was very simple . we enjoyed the board games and table tennis.
Easily the most well-designed and modern hotel that we stayed in during 3 weeks in France. Many thoughtful details in the rooms like Lightning charger plugs in the wall. Staff are also very friendly and the cocktails are a must-try.
We're so happy with our stay. Glad they finally open Meininger Hotel in France. All is designed to be functional. The bed is comfy, all is clean. They provide washing machine, pantry with fridge, play area, etc. Great concept !
One of The best apartament i stayed în France, ultra central, i have all wanted to vizit very close, and The area îs magic. The apartament clean, with all The facilities you need for a nice holiday, for sure i Will come back
The Breakfast was the best we had in 10 days in France. Lucy, Clothilde & Antoinne all make us feel right at home, made lots of great local recommendations and generally went above and beyond to make our stay great.
As a solo traveller my small double room was fine. Bordeaux is quite expensive for France so overall good value.
No tea/ coffee facilities but I knew this in advance and took my travel kettle.
overall the hotel is good. The staff are the absolutely the best asset of the hotel, they are very helpful and friendly other than that I dont know why the hotel is a 5 star
