I was returning from an International trip, Kolkata was my connecting destination and all of a sudden my flight got cancelled and postponed to 27 of May bcoz of cyclonic Alert, it was around 1AM in midnight.
I was looking for a good hotel nearby and booked there for 1 night(26 to 27 May) and reached at hotel around 2AM. After reaching there I requested for early check in but they told early check in not possible and suggested me to pay for 1 more days then they will allot me a room to take rest. Accordingly I paid full charge of a day additionally but they didn’t allot me room that time.
I spent the whole night on the sofa at reception and allotted me the room around 7.40 AM in the morning.
TAJ ie is a well known name in hotel Industry for it’s hospitality and guest friendly attitude but unfortunately I had a very bad experience that day, even I paid for the full day but I had to spent my night on the Sofa. There is nothing to speak more, overall I didn’t like 👎

It is a city of scamsters and touters. I have not seen a single city in the world except Kolkata where almost all cab and taxi services (including ola, uber and bikes etc) ask the customer for more money than what is shown in the app and threaten to cancel the ride otherwise. The worker class and labour class is fully corrupt

Kolkata is indeed the city of joy.
Kolkata is indeed the city of joy. Walking through the street of Kolkata means, walking through history, culture and heritage. One or two days are nothing for Kolkata. To know Kolkata, to see Kolkata you need at least a month to get the best essence of the trip. Old part of the city as well as modern part of the city has so many beautiful things to offer for a tourist. I think Kolkata is the best place to enrich ones knowledge of arts, music, literature and what not?

This was my first time visiting Kolkata.
This was my first time visiting Kolkata. I had heard that it was very congested, old, run down and dirty. I found it to be the same as most of the other big cities in India. Liked the history. However the old Kolkata could do with an uplift. To preserve some of the old buildings they need to be refurbished.
This is grand hotel of a type rarely seen nowadays.
From the airport pick-up to my check-out, the front desk, concierge and staff at the pool coffee bar were charming, helpful and friendly.
The outstanding breakfast (where I was given delightful personal attention by Sanket) sets a new high standard by which all future hotels will be judged.
The location is perfect for getting around Kolkata. Many places are literally on the doorstep (e.g. Hoggs Market, Park Street) and the Metro (clean and easy to navigate) is just around the corner.
During this trip I have visited three different cities in India. Holiday INN was far the best compared to two other hotels. Well, actually it has met all my expectations which I got used to in London and Europe.
And especially nice gastronomic experience. Safe (which is especially sensitive in India) and extremely delicious dinner with authentic Indian dishes. Order of following dishes one by one makes sense here! I had very nice dinner on Tuesday 12/07/2022. Thanks!
The hotel is located in a prime location, close to the airport and major attractions in Kolkata. The hotel is easily accessible from the railway station and bus terminals. The hotel offers well-furnished rooms with comfortable beds and basic amenities. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with modern amenities like air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and free Wi-Fi. The staff ensures that they are well-maintained.
That was my first time in the hotel and I enjoyed the superb service. That hotel has amazing staff. From the moment I entered the hotel till I exited it, I was treated like a king. The whole team was nice, friendly, welcoming and communicative.
I would like to thank them for everything ☺️.
You were amazing and I definitely will choose JW Marriot from now on when I am in Kolkata.
You are the best 😍
The hotel is at a good location. Right next to park street and a 25mins walk to new market area. The staff were super nice, unlike any other hotel staff I’ve met in the last 20 years of travelling to Kolkata. There are plenty shops and restaurants around, my personal favourite is the Haldirams right across the street. It’s an easy Uber location and there’s a taxi stand right at the door.
The staff is very nice and tries to help the customers in every possible way.
Also, they keeps the hostel clean and tidy, one can compare the cleanliness of this hostel with 3 star hotels.
The location is the best you will find in Kolkata as you can get bus to any place in kolkata from the Hostel gate.
Also, there are a lot of food options around the hostel.
The very first thing I liked about the hotel is its environment and all the facilities you will get while staying here. Not to mention the staff are really well behaved and friendly. The Bus Stand is just 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel and it's clean as well. I would definitely stay here the next time I visit Kolkata.
Actually everything was excellent. The hospitality, food and located not far from the airport. They strive to make the guests feel at home and ensure all is needed to make the guest happy..Any assistance required is met with a smile and most helpful especially if new to Kolkata or India.
Perfect place for staying, Kolkata should be proud of Grand Oberoi. Everting was perfect, it was my birthday and the staffs of the hotel surprised me with cake and room decorations. Special thanks to Sanjay, Siddharth and Bhwawana. In fact they all are excellent- full of positivity.
The absolute highlight of the hotel was it's location, situated at park street crossing, it gives easy access to visit different attractions in kolkata. Look wise it's a new property and hence the rooms and the linen are all clean and fresh. Highly recommended for budget travellers
In Kolkata pure vegetarian hotels are very limited and I would say this is the best one. The food is very tasty, and they helped us serve breakfast and food with no onion and no garlic. Their Banquet Hall is quite decent and the food there was awesome, staff were all very kind.
The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting kolkata. Location is also great near to new market, marquis street and park street.
This is a best budget hotels I was being. Cheap and best. Owner is also a great guy. He even came carried out lagage ( it's 40 kg). Found some friends too. Highly recommended. Even though this tells I'm an Indian actually I'm a Sri Lankan.
I love that they have a PS5 on the shared space.
I also love stuffs working there. I caught a cold in Kolkata and when I arrived in the hotel, he helped me a lot.
