Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.
The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.
Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!
Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.
Lisbon Old Town House is located in a flat area of streets...
Lisbon Old Town House is located in a flat area of streets and squares making walking much easier, particularly in the heat. Cafe bars, pubs, supermarket, ATMs in immediate vicinity and the main train station and Metro across the square. Buses, trams and taxis pass by the door. We found all the hospitality services, courteous, friendly and engaging with a willing helpfulness. It was easy to ask for Indians English is spoken widely. The Irish bar O’Gillins over the road had lively music by a dynamic 3-man band with holiday makers thoroughly enjoying themselves! PINK St. around the corner, with a canopy of umbrellas, is great for a night out with selfies going all night long! 5-10 minutes walk takes you to the seafront promenade for a good walk or boat tour. A trip on the train to Sintra 40 mins, a picturesque town is well worth the visit but your legs need to be ‘match fit’! Asking for any ‘Seniors’ Concession’, the return trip cost €5.70 and Metro 20% discount when purchased at the ticket desk. Sightseeing bus has two loops of choice and the vintage tram takes you up and down the hills of Lisbon. It is a ‘historico’ area with beautiful architecture, the front area which was rebuilt following the disastrous earthquake 1755, destroying palatial buildings with severe loss of life. The location was perfect for us. 😀

Nice and beautiful city, however, it is hard to walk up and down on the slopes in the old town. Driving in the old town is not a good idea. Public transport like Tram 28 or 12 are good options. However mind the pickpockets, usually two in a group.

very good transportation
lots of restaurants serving brunch, worth a try
if you don't go inside the different museums and attractions the you won’t need the Lisboa tourist card, just get a card for the public transportation (much cheaper)

A day pass is a good idea to avoid the hassle of topping up your credit on your pre-paid card and to keep your wallet in good shape.
Lisbon's Calouste Gulbenkian Museum is hugely overrated. I wouldn't do it again. A Fado night is a must, on the other hand. We also took part in a free walking tour which wasn't really free (five euros minimum had to be paid which you were told at the beginning) but nevertheless very informative. The hype about Sintra is not justified. Yes, the palace, for example, is unusual in its color palette but the paint is peeling off and you are supposed to do the tour within a rather short time frame. The time slot you get is tight and okay for the kind of Emperoress Sissi palaces in Vienna but not in a little town like Sintra. It is, however, nicely settled among lush vegetation which makes that part of Portugal truly a gem.
In a nutshell, Lisbon is worth a visit but avoid the touristy attractions that are both expensive and somewhat disappointing when you have been to other beautiful places around the world. We have also met a number of locals in Lisbon and they have all been very friendly.

Lisbon is a walkable town but there are many steep hills. Ubers are easy to get and reasonably priced. Definitely great for foodies as we did not have a bad meal. Everything, especially fish, was fresh and delicious!

lisbon is a great place to visit and has a great selection...
lisbon is a great place to visit and has a great selection of things to see and do.the river trips seemed very over priced given the geography of the city, otherwise a very reasonable tourist destination.that said i did get a slight feeling that the locals resent tourists seeing us as rich while they see themselves as poor.i did experience over charging in a taxi and on another occasion in a restaurant.as an overview the city felt safe and certainly no one bothered me day or night.
Perfect location for the night life in Lisbon. Beautiful new hotel. Don’t be fooled by the old Google Street View images. This old office building was completely renovated and converted into a hotel with a great restaurant and bar. For a 5 Star hotel, the price was unbeatable. Breakfast was exceptionally good and the entire staff were very friendly and helpful with booking taxis and passenger vans for our group. I cannot say enough good things about our stay and will definitely book this property the next time I’m in Lisbon.
Browns boutique hotel had everything and more, the location was perfect for exploring Lisbon and all the entertainment around the local area, The room had all the facilities you would need including fridge, coffee and tea making and a complimentary bottle of wine. The staff were excellent and accommodating of any request made. The breakfast was easily the best we have had over the last 5 hotels that we stayed in during our 3 week trip. We would highly recommend the hotel and will look to book again when visiting Lisbon again
Wonderful boutique hotel in the center of Lisbon. The ladies at reception were very nice, at the breakfast as well. The room is nicely decorated, bathroom and bed clean and comfortable. The breakfast is served in their little roof top which is nice (inside and outside seating). Sufficient choice for breakfast and everything freshly prepared.
The lift is a plus when traveling with large suitcase. Another plus is the little shop right next door with the best pasteis de nata and delicious sandwiches.
The staff was some of the most friendly and forthcoming that I have ever encountered in a hotel. And I mean every single person working there. Most 5 Star hotels aren't this friendly or helpful. 11/10 for Service!!!
Location is amazing too! A small walk from old town center, but directly behind Lisbon's main high-end shopping avenue.
Room size and facilities and cleanliness were fantastic. Everything exceeded expectations. I really wonder why this hotel doesn't have 5+ stars....
The staff was the friendliest and most accommodating I have ever experienced. They made our stay exceedingly comfortable and luxurious. The hotel was beautiful, I loved the history and the art. The breakfast was fantastic and I also highly recommend their restaurant for dinner--it was the best meal we had during our time in Portugal! The hotel itself was the perfect location for our stay in Lisbon, only a block from the Tower of Belem. I would love to come back and stay again.
Very nice hotel, seems to be newly renovated. Staff was helpful and friendly, at breakfast there was plenty to choose from, the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
It is not located near the city centre but there are lots of restaurants and shopping options nearby. Public transportation is also good in Lisbon, the metro station is 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel, the bus station is right in front of it. The airport is also easy to reach from the hotel
1. Apartment style rooms with 5 star luxury
2. Staff were amazing so welcoming and accommodating
3. Pool beds were fantastic and waiter service at pool area
4. Location ideal. Walk to coast or taxi to town. 10mins to airport
5. All hotel features were superb. It was like walking into a hotel of the Future in terms of tech
Very comfortable & quiet hotel with lovely facilities. Extensive breakfast selections, including omelette & waffle station. Full bar with creative cocktails. Best of all is the friendly, well trained staff that go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Enjoy Lisbon with the hospitality offered by Baixa
Location is great. The hotel is in a quiet zone of Lisbon but 5/10 minutes on foot from the center.
You also have luxury shops all around you. If you do not want to do breakfast in the hotel, around the corner there is a cafe where I had the best croissant I have had in a very long time.
honestly? I have nothing bad to say. The staff is super nice the rooms are nice it’s a little tight but it’s a Boutique hotel what are you expect? The price reflect the location. All in all the restaurant was the best food we had had in Lisbon. i definitely recommend
It was one of the best Breakfasts I ever had in a hotel, even better than breakfast at 4 or 5 stars Hotels.
The only thing was that they only offer machine coffee, but everything else was amazing, homemade and you have many options to choose from.
Super location, modern boutique style, great staff. Excellent hotel to experience the Lisbon scene. Also, the breakfast was top notch. We stayed 3 days on arrival to Portugal and another day before departure. Worked out great.
I loved my stay here, hands down the best hotel I’ve stayed in 😍 I had the best time in portugal thanks to the hotel and its staff!!
if I could give it 30 stars I would.
best place to stay at in Lisbon.
A beautiful hotel in a perfect location for walking around the centre of Lisbon. The service was excellent . Having an outdoor pool was a great bonus . It was truly worthy of its 5 stars
Location was the best as it was in a very central part of Lisbon. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Super breakfast and bar. Restaurants surrounded the hotel everywhere.
Best breakfast of the 6 hotels we stayed in. I would choose this hotel again when I visit Lisbon again. Location is great, room and staff were good, breakfast was outstanding.
The staff are amazing the hotel it's self is exceptional.
Location was the best in lisbon. Rooms had all luxury ammenties from bathroom to coffee machine. Bed very comfortable
it was very well situated in the centre of Lisbon. tram 28 started in the square and tram 15 started just around the corner. a huge plus was that the hotel had a car park.
