Lovely place to spend a weekend, the river and canal basin area are very pretty, loads of really good restaurants, places to stay and things to do. The Shakespeare birthday celebrations/parade is great (mid April). We did the marathon there and that's a great event if you are keen on running.

Stratford upon Avon is great for a short trip and easy to get to from London or anywhere from the Midlands. Particularly nice in spring. There are options for boat hires along the river, or go on a boating trip with someone else steering. Lots of little shops to explore. The big draw is the RSC. Shakespeare's birthplace and museum was great! Staff were brilliant. We loved Stratford's mix of regular high street shops and unique independents. Lots of historic buildings and places to visit. We saw a matinee performance of a show that was at 1.15pm. We had time in the morning to explore, but after the show there wasn't much time for museums and other places of interest before they were closing for the day. Next time, I'll plan for a 2 day visit instead of just 1.JessicaUnited Kingdom

We had dinner and breakfast here and both were above our expectations. It was delicious and the best meals we've had out for a long while. The rooms were spacious, modern and clean with great views over the fields. We said hello to some lovely sheep haha! 🐑 This is certainly a hotel we are keeping noted for when we are back around Stratford upon Avon as I would definitely stop here again. The room was large and clean with a good sized bathroom and loads of hot water. The staff at the hotel are amazing, very friendly and welcoming making you feel like valued guests from the greeting on arrival to checking out. Breakfast was perfect with various options from a full English, toast, cereal to yogurt and pastries with loads of coffee, tea and juice.
