The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom clean and modern. The location was ideal for our needs. We would choose the Alcantara again. The breakfast was ok though not great, especially for an area with such good quality local produce. There lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
The Casa Pizarro Hotel, set in a late 18th-Century house, offers a delightful space next to Plaza Santa Clara and the old quarter of the city ideal to explore Cáceres.

Lovely pool. Rooms are comfortable and spotless. Comfy bed. Good bathroom, powerful shower. Nice towels etc.. Staff were all friendly & helpful. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meal and lovely service. Underground parking was very easy to access and secure. I’d book it in advance next time to make sure I got a space. We wanted a talking stopover halfway from the ferry to Costa del sol, and this was ideal. We didn’t go into Caseres this time, so can’t comment on how long this might take. The hotel provide pool towels. The gym was well equipped.
Hospes Palacio de Arenales dates back to the 17th century and was formally the holiday residence of a noble family. This 5-star hotel offers a wellness centre and spa.

This spa hotel near Caceres, not far from the border town of Badajoz, provided an excellent overnight stop on our drive through Spain to Portugal. The welcome was very warm, and we were impressed with the location, and the facilities. We didn't try the spa treatments or the pool, so cannot comment on those, but the price of your stay will reflect the fact this is a spa hotel - and you should be aware of that. For us, it was a hotel in exactly the right place geographically, offering superb comfort (great bed, superb shower - instant hot water and great pressure, and a bath in our suite). We also had an outdoor balcony and seating area. From the balcony, we ate room service pizza - which I must say was one of the finest pizzas we have had anywhere, serenaded by the birds, watching the sunset off in the west. We could also see the hotel's famed storks' nests, which have been made in specially erected poles in the hotel's grounds - a lovely touch. Breakfast was superb, lots of juices, lots of cooked options in a buffet style, coffee, etc, and the staff were really friendly. The Breakfast area itself is absolutely lovely, and you can pick from a salon-style area, with a dry fountain, and a lantern window roof, or the restaurant area. The overwhelming feeling was of breakfast in a light, airy, cheerful space, which offered cosiness, comfort. The same area is where dinner is served, so must be really rather nice in the evenings too. Food was, as a I say, exceptional throughout.
Atrio is centrally located, 200 metres from Cáceres Cathedral. It features a seasonal alberca swimming pool, free Wi-Fi and a 2-Michelin-starred restaurant.

It is a beautiful city with lots of historic places to visit. Amazing restaurants to try typical dishes and mainly the cheese! It seems difficult to access sometimes (mainly the old historic area), but taxis reach practically everywhere. Sadly, my trip was a business one and only for a weekend, but the city deserves more days to fully enjoy it!

Beautiful old city, lovely to just wander around.
Beautiful old city, lovely to just wander around. Slightly off the beaten track with not too many foreign tourists there, particularly in February. Speaking a little Spanish is useful. Would definitely recommend.

Carceres is a beautifully preserved old city.
Carceres is a beautifully preserved old city. The museum is very well set out starting with paleotonic times and there is no charge to go in.
I also loved the Arab museum - only a relatively small building but with some many distinct rooms and full of the everyday things that were used. A real house, not just a made to look like one.
Good ‘menu’ at the Colon Kiosk that’s around from the hotel.
Beautiful hotel. Beautifully clean, lovely helpful staff
Great food. Will be re booking to go back.
Room was excellent had plenty room for two small dogs, they left out dog beds and bowls

Caceres was a highlight of a monthlong trip through Portugal and Andalucia. I would like to have spent three or four days there. There's a wonderful modern art museum in the Old City area. Do not miss a romantic nighttime stroll.

Caceres is a must-visit jewel in Spain's repertoire of fabulous historic places to visit. So many places to see but all in walking distance of the parador - Plaza de la Concepcion, Plaza Mayor, Plaza de Santa Maria and the cathedral, Torre do los Pozos, the water cisterns and the Torre de Bujaco. All are wonderful sights to visit. Very easy to walk around and the Plaza Mayor has many restaurants and bars from which to choose where to eat.
Wonderful hotel. Perfect location just off the motorway as we booked it as travelling through Spain to Portugal. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Great choice at breakfast. Good size room and bathroom. Spa a welcome treat after all the driving. About 10 minutes drive to Caceres the old town is amazing, visit if you can; we got a taxi in from the hotel and had tapas restaurant recommended from the hotel reception which was right in the old town (where they were filming Game of Thrones!) and it was fantastic.
This was the fifth time I had stayed at this lovely little hotel right in the centre of Cáceres. Which probably sums up my feelings about the place. Beautifully located (although parking can sometimes be an issue) right in the middle of this fabulous little city, on the edge of the medieval 'old town', Don Carlos is a characterful and comfortable reflection of Cáceres itself. Highly recommended to anyone. Great choice of restaurants within a short walk, and the breakfast (5€90 at February 2024 prices) is excellent!
Very comfortable room and bed. 3 minutes walking to Plaza Mayor.
It's like 20 stairs to go up with not an elevator in case you have some issues with that.
Better to take a taxi from bus or train station, cost 7-8 euros. If you don't mind walking, then bus L1 leave you close at Obispo Lagarza station. No, any bus go to old town.
In case you have issues with mobility, Caceres town is uphill with several stairs and an uneven road.
Don't miss to visit Trujillo and Merida town for a day trip.
Very central to Cáceres. The owner has thought of every need and was very attentive. It is a small basement apartment so no views overlooking the city but actually, in a hot city, it is brilliant for keeping cool and quiet when you are in it. It is in the centre of the old part of Caceres and its historic buildings. It is very close to Cáceres's vibrant town square which is also a lovely place to have breakfast. Parking available in hotel nearby.
The location was at a short walking distance from the Caceres historic city center and the parking garage for which we received a 40% discount coupon. The receptionist was very adequate in explaining all necessary information through a translator on his phone. It was easy the unload the luggage in front of the hotel before taking the car to the garage. They don't serve breakfast or other meals but indicated some nearby options in the neighborhood.
Location was excellent, with easy lift access to main Plaza Mayor-historic center. Quiet place. Nice lobby. Very clean, modern hotel with spacious room, nice sitting area with 2 tables & chairs, nice sower and bathroom. Buffet was excellent as was the staff woman who worked the buffet. On-site parking with lift (elevator) was helpful.
Excellent location, in Caceres old town very near the Plaza Mayor. Public Parking 10 euro per day if you book with the hotel, is just 300 mts. You can reach the hotel with the car, leave your luggage and park later. Nice room, with coffee maker. Service was great. Breakfast not included but just 10 euro each. Highly recommended
The hotel is in the middle of the historical centre of the town and you can walk everywhere very easily. The staff are really friendly and breakfast is included, which is always helpful. Loved the atmospheric decor in the room!! And there is a lovely tea house within the hotel so you can come back for tea in the afternoon.
Breakfast was better than expected, with a decent selection of fruit, jamon, cheese etc and good coffee. The location is perfect for visiting Caceres, and the value for money excellent. Good shower and bed, so the basics are catered for. An interesting old hotel, with friendly staff.
A lovely family run hotel just around the corner from the Plaza Mayor. The room was lovely and the family/staff also lovely and really helpful. This hotel is a great place to be based to explore wonderful Cáceres. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
When we arrived with our car they parked it in their garage so we didn't have to worry about it! The room, restaurant and service was the best. We would highly recommend it to all travelers as a quaint and authentic Spanish hotel experience.
Great value for such A great location. Yes, the rooms are small, but to be able to stay so close to the old city for a reasonable rate was great . The family who own the hotel are friendly and helpful.
Central location if you are visiting Caceres. Breakfast was good, paid parking available on premises. Beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean and appeared to have had been recently refurbished.
Bedroom very clean & comfortable. Greeting by gentleman on reception on arrival was very friendly & welcoming. Hotel close to Caceres’ amazing heritage site. Would recommend
The location was amazing, a few metres from the Plaza Mayor and historic area of Caceres. The food at the hotel was excellent. I would recommend the dinner.
