Tip: the parking is behind the hotel, so you will need to quickly jump out of the car to tell them to open up the gate, and then you need to drive to the street behind the hotel. Friendly staff, especially the young guy during the breakfast, who also offered us help with the luggage while he was still busy with breakfast duties.

Very genuine place. They have a baptistry that needs to be seen. Philipoi is an ancient Macedonian city, gobsmacking in dimentions. Mud bath - an absolute must! Only 6 euro ( or less, I may have forgotten the exact price) and you have a check by a doctor and about half an hout to an hour in the healing squidgy mud. The pool is gender separated, locals go there for health, beauty and social, so try to update your Greek before hand:). Not for small kids. Take all jewels off, otherwise they will become dark with the sulphur. Kavala beach abou 15min drive away. Though after the mud, the sea wate is not recommended.
See the historic churches at the center...Walk on the Coast Line (Nea Paralia)...Get up to the top of White Tower...Visit Ano Poli...Kastra Area the old fort of the City..Visit Archaeological Museum..Learn the History of Ancient Macedonia the real Macedonia..the Land of Alexander the Great....(Thessaloniki is the name of his sister that according to the myth when she learned about his death..from her sadness she got suicide by getting drowned on the Aegean sea...then the gods turned her into Mermaid that crossing the Aegean and asking the sailors Is The King Alexander alive??? and the reply is Yes...Otherwise the sea will become wavy). Use Thessaloniki as a base for daily trip to Pella, Vergina, Fillipoi...and all those treasures of Central Macedonia
Orma is a beautiful little village nestled at the foothills of the mountains that border the Republic of Macedonia and Greece. It is located only 10 minutes drive from Loutra Pozar hot springs and about 30 minutes drive from the beautiful mountain city of Edessa. While very small and quiet, Orma can draw crowds at afternoon and evening meal times as many people come to eat at the amazing tavern, Dionysos (located under a massive sycamore tree next to a clear river in the center of the village). While Dionysos is one of only a few dining options in Orma, it certainly makes up for the lack of variety with it's amazing food! Orma seems to have only one small supermarket, so you will probably need to go the the neighboring city of Aridea (a 5-10 minute drive) if you need something more than a basic item. Orma also has a cafe and a gyro shop.
The Macedonia region of Greece is wonderful - a hidden gem really. We visited Kavala, Xanthi, the Nestos river region with it's canoeing and zip lines adventures, Vergina ancient site ( a masterpiece), Naousa, Edessa, Pozar spa, Kastoria and Nymfaio (UNESCO site). Unbeleivable scenery, people and food.
Thessaloniki is Greece. Thessaloniki is Macedonia. A metropolis, with a really unique atmosphere. A city for young people, and for those, who like crowded cities, where always is happening something.
The town and Macedonia exceeded our modest expectations. Every site, in and out of town, is well maintained. Tourists are advised to include visits to Pela, Vergina, Athos and Meteora. The certified tourist guides are multilingual and knowledgeable. Good restaurants everywhere.
Well, it is simply a must to visit!!! Particularly with the family...getting to know the history of Macedonia and Alexander the Great, visit Pella, and Chalkidiki...go island-hopping...feel alive!!!
Great city as a hub for the Macedonian and Halkidiki exploration. Friendly people as in Greece a lot of attractions. Plenty of hotels on different choices. Great long embankment with all night people move. As for me more pleasant and comfortable in comparison with Athens. Long wide streets in the center. Excellent Greek cuisine. You can explore the center walking but to go around you definitely need a car nor public transport
Very lively city, lots of young people who keep the bars, cafes and restaurants busy. 2 good museums, many other old buildings and wonderful Byzantine churches. It was quite clean and well looked after but the palace site was shut and there is an awful lot of traffic. A good centre for going to other places in Macedonia as distances aren't great.
Vergina is a quite village of utmost historical value. The tombs of the ancient kings of Macedonia of Greece especially the Tomb of king Phillip, father of Alexander the Great, is awe inspiring. You look at a sight as seen by Alexander the Great as he buried his beloved father. The exhibits are priceless.
Vergina
If you are in transit, like we was-to the southern Greece-you should consider to take one day more to visit Vergina. Vergina it's a destination in itself and you won't regret. Our hosts adviced us to vist The Museum of Aigai which is an underground(literally) musem of royal macedonian tombs. Along with this, the good food-there are a lot of taverns with good prices-the excellent conditions of Evridiki House and the good spirit of our hosts, made of an transit stop an unforgetable memory.
The terrase is beautiful specially for breakfast or dinner with a breathtaking view. We went in August and it was almost empty, nice to be away from crowds in a pitoresque frame. Perfect to visit Vergina and the macedonian tombs . Veria is definitely worth the visit as well. The staff at the hotel gave us the contact of a guide for the museums and ruins that was excellent, highly recommended. The food in the restaurant is simple but good price for money, breakfast is ok.
I have been traveling to Greece for more than 25 years and this is the best property that I have stayed. (Hotels not included) Its perfectly clean, has everything that you need for a perfect vacation. The view from the balcony is breathtaking! The beach is great and the sandy sea is ideal for kids. There is also a playstation for the kids and adults :) The host is very helpful and nice. For sure we are going to stay at this property again! Robert from Skopje, Macedonia
Big, clean rooms! Daily cleaning service! Great location, next to the beach. Sunbeds were good quality and the sunscreens were new. The street dividing the hotel from the beach is not busy. The food was plentiful, typical, central Macedonian type. Variety of fried and fresh salads. Spices were nice and there was vegetarian variety. Some gests didn't find it tasteful, but for me, it was good (considering the price).
Value for money. Big room, very good breakfast, original Macedonian hospitality by Maria who is always there for you, big private parking in front of the hotel. Magnificent surroundings with a farm with horses just across the road… 10 minutes from the city of Veria, 30 minutes from the ski center of Seli, 50 minutes from the ski center of 3-5 pigadia. A good choice to explore the area.
First the staff is great!! (In the past I had very bad experience in Greece) but here I can say - RESPECT! Location is ok, we were with car and change beach location and free parking... Room was clean and new! In WC jacuzzi... I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! DANIEL FROM R. MACEDONIA
Nea Kalikratia
The owners are super comunicative and pleasent. The accomodation is superb when it comes to location and the apartment itself. We were a family of 4, super comfy and clean. Def worth the price and def we will visit again Best Katerina Macedonia 🙌
For the first time in Greece, and this place really exceeded my expectations. Staff, room and everything else was just perfect. Hope to see you again! Greetings from Macedonia!

Thessaloniki
The hotel is pretty close to the city center (10-15 minutes from Hotel Macedonia) but in a quiet area. The room was equipped with everything I need for such stay.
We mentioned that we were coming on honeymoon after wedding and the hotel went above and beyond to decorate the room, provide chocs and wine. really appreciated this.
very easy access in all venues we wanted
The view were fantastic and the food was great really five star hotel
Love the contemporary style and design and location and great service and food
The hosts are very kind. I highly recommend this accommodation.
Everything was very nice, starting from location, stuff, breakfast, dinner…
beautiful pool& spa area, delicious breakfast, and nicely located, not far from Olympus Mountain. The room was comfy and big
Well organized camp in the beautiful setting. Beach was awesome, we even saw a dolphin. One side of the beach is shallow, where kid can swim safely. There is beautiful breeze coming from the mountain in the night. Bungalows are surrounded by greenery and they are close to the beach. Camp is well organized, so there is well equipped shop, restaurant with descent food and cafeteria under the trees. The bungalows are clean and well maintained, with full kitchenware and linen. There is normal kids playground on the beach, so you can keep eye on the kid, while swimming. WiFi had good cover. The stuff was more then hospitable. The last day, I had online meeting after the check-out time, so reception lady was kind enough to provide me extra 1.50 hour stay in bungalow and use the WiFi and power for the purpose of the meeting.
The personal, the facilities, breakfast and dinner was great!
The staff of the hotel are very nice!
