Akhi was an exceptional host. He picked us up from the train station and allowed us to check in really early. He knew the scheduled timing of the buses and gave us ideas on what we could do around town when we had some spare time. We started the Nakahechi route and on the day, he messaged saying we could use the shoes dryer when we got back since it was raining. He was attentive, knowledgable and flexible. The house was spacious and had pretty much everything you needed. Akhi was responsive and reachable via WhatsApp and came to the house when needed. He also arranged luggage transfers for us - thank you so much!

Excellent value for money with our sleeping area as pictured. Very spacious accommodation. We were the only guests there, so of course very quiet and private. Our room was upstairs, with main toilet, bathroom and kitchen all downstairs. Our host was lovely and spoke some English very well and took time to explain things. This is a good value property for the price you pay - 2 min walk from Kii-Tanabe station and bus stop to Takijiri if you’re starting the Kumano kodo. Meals not included, but plenty of options in the area (though dinner/ Izakaya open after 6ish in most places) and we purchased some breakfast options at 7/11.

Great hosts and great value! We stayed up until Christmas eve and enjoyed the hosts guitar playing and Christmas carols on our last breakfast. The hosts were some of the most accomodating people we have met.

Comfy room. When it’s windy, it’s a little loud, but super comfy and cozy. Great way to start our pilgrimage.

Very nice stay at Marine Blue, the owners and Jack kun are so kind. We came with our dogs and everybody enjoyed the stay. The house is perfect, very kleen and relaxing. Very nice view from our room and tasty breakfast. There's a nice beach very close to the guesthouse. A perfect place to stay!
