The highlight of our stat in Jambo House is Arnold, its owner. He is doing a great job, responds quickly, provides airport pickup, shares a map with all the useful tips and nice places to eat and is at your service if you need to book any kind of trip around Lamu. Furthermore, the breakfast here are lovely and for a bargain price, so definitely don't miss out on them ! In the room, we had all we needed, and it was very quiet, so we slept very well! We will be back!

The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Alexandra and Zion were just amazing. You can see the passion of Alexandra about Lamu and about this historical building! It is perfect for a big group, and it's also amazing to work from there. I liked everything of the place, so relaxing and such a relaxed atmosphere!

The hotel is fully equipped with everything you need from fresh towels, body lotion and shampoo. Also if you go swimming often, they even have a hair drier. I loved the comfortable beds with good mosquito nets. More so, the hotel is very beautiful with Swahili architectural designs and furniture. During our stay, the staff were very kind and the Swahili breakfast was delicious. Jivanjee was so helpful in linking us to affordable services such as dhow rides and helped us in anything we needed.

Unfassbar schöne, ungewöhnliche Unterkunft...Allein der Weg zum Zimmer - super cool. Schöne Terrasse und zusätzlich Dachterrasse direkt über dem recht großen Zimmer, auf der man auch bei Wind und Wetter sitzen und aufs Meer schauen kann. In Zimmer gibt es kein Glas - die Fenster sind offen, was aber kein Problem ist (es gibt ein Moskitonetz über dem Bett, die Fenster sind durch Vordächer vor Regen geschützt), sondern zu dem Charme der Unterkunft beiträgt. Joshua ist ein super Gastgeber, sehr nett, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit - alle Fragen oder Probleme wurden direkt beantwortet bzw. gelöst. Würden immer wieder diese Unterkunft buchen - einzigartige Erfahrung, einzigartiges Gebäude, einzigartiges Zimmer!
