This family-run guest house is quietly situated in Stadt Wehlen in the heart of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, directly below the world-famous Bastei rock formation. Beautiful location. Clean room. Very lovely breakfast with homemade specialty jams etc. that even included vegan options (when requested). Staff was very kind and helpful. Contactless check-in when you come outside of check-in hours. A perfect place to rest up and enjoy nature. Parking was available and pets were allowed. Even though we didn't bring any we love meeting others' pets on holidays.

Boasting garden views, "Campingplatz Altjessen 57" provides accommodation with an open-air bath, a garden and a bar, around 6 km from Pillnitz Castle and Park. The hosts were friendly and gave us a tour on the small camping side. The camping was very close to the start of the first etappe of the Malerweg. We could leave the car for free, outside at the main road for the time we were gone. The breakfast was very variated and delicious, and on top of that it was a good start for our hike. Oh and we could use the pool, it was very clear and clean water.
