The owner is the most helpful guest house owner I've ever encountered. She went out of her way to make our stay the best it could be. The location is beautiful, I would 100% stay here again.

Featuring tatami (woven-straw) flooring and Japanese futon bedding, Share House Amigos is situated in Onomichi and has a terrace and a shared lounge. The staff were lovely and spoke English and Spanish. The location of this traditional Japanese house is convenient, walking distance to the JR station and the ferry for cycling Shimanami kaido. We were provided with ham, eggs, bread and a fully equipped kitchen to make meals. Very quiet and comfortable stay. Flexible check in time.

Situated within 17 km of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and 17 km of Atomic Bomb Dome, near to Miyajima features rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Hatsukaichi. We came to this town to visit family and found the location very convenient. The host communicated quickly and was friendly. She met us at a specified time to hand over the key and walk us through the apartment. She explained how things worked. She provided a local map with a few restaurant suggestions. Her house rules were clear. We liked the spacious size and amenities such as dishes, cutlery, some cooking pans (we didn't use them), the hot water kettle, refrigerator and microwave. If we needed to have an extended stay, this place would be perfect. For someone wanting to see Miyajima, the train is only a few minutes walk away and just a couple of stops down the line. This apartment offers an economical stay close to but not right in the middle of the tourist area.

Diphylleia Grayi is a guest house set in Hatsukaichi and boasts a terrace and a shared lounge. The accommodation is just a 2-minute walk from Ajina-Higashi Station. Friendly atmosphere and kept privacy well at the same time. Highly recommended

Located in Kure, 17 km from Ondonoseto Park and 18 km from Areikarasukojima Park, SASAKOJIMA cottage provides a restaurant. This beachfront property offers access to a terrace and free private... A unique self-catering experience which includes the added attraction of the adjacent H F Royce Museum which has a small (18 vehicles) but interesting collection of Rolls-Royce and Bentley motor cars - a must for car enthusiasts. Indeed, the 'quality' element of the cars is reflected in the accommodation - illuminated with Swarovski crystal chandeliers, equipped with fine Noritake and Wedgwood china, not to mention the latest Panasonic washlet toilets. Sasakojima Cottages is an unusual destination, I think, for European visitors to Japan as it is a bit off the beaten track but it has a lovely location fronting onto a beautiful bay looking southward to the Inland Sea and multiple islands. If you are looking to chill, this is the place but you will most probably need to hire a vehicle to get out and about. It provides excellent self-contained accommodation (we stayed for nearly two weeks) and as there is not too much choice in the way of nearby eateries, you will most probably want to do a daily shop for food. That said, Sasakojima Cottages has a very good lunchtime only restaurant. Opened earlier in 2022, Sasakojima Cottages clearly caters for Japanese visitors stopping for only one or two nights. I would encourage the extraordinary owner or manager to pack a bag and stay for three or four nights on a purely self-catering basis to fully realise the potential of this beautifully-located and unique venue.
