In the surroundings you can make nice hikes. Very calm and relaxing environment. Small supermarket and coffee corner at two hundred meters.

Herman and Luc are absolutely fantastic hosts and are so accommodating and friendly. We really felt at home and everything was terrific…from the homemade breakfast to the heated pool to the immaculate rooms. The Location is gorgeous and there are some amazing local restaurants. The guide to the area that they have personalized is very special and unique! They have put in a lot of work to the property and the experience and it really shows. The bed is also the comfiest we have come across throughout Portugal. We only stayed 2 nights, but if you can stay longer, there is so much to see and experience, but you can also just power down and relax as well. Thank you casa carvalhal!

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying in Encontro no Rio. From the moment we arrived, the owners, David, Daniela and the kids welcomed us with open arms, making us feel like part of their family. Their warmth and kindness truly made the experience special. The farmhouse was a gem! The stunning view of the river took our breath away every single day. The pool was an excellent addition, and we spent many enjoyable hours relaxing and splashing around in the water. The animals on the property were an absolute delight. It was heartwarming to see how well they were cared for and how friendly they were with all the guests. The highlight of our stay was definitely the horseback ride with "Cavalos no Rio Mondego." Exploring the beautiful surroundings on horseback was an unforgettable experience. The horses were well-trained, and the guides were knowledgeable, ensuring we had a safe and thrilling ride. Great kitchen. Comfortable beds and big bathrooms. Very up to date bathrooms and on every floor. The yard is beautiful. Right on the water. Fruit trees and ample parking. Hosts are very kind and very nice. The BBQ is wood fired. They supply wood, and you can also pick driftwood from the beach. Quiet setting. We just love this place and we will definitely be back.

CDR moderne luxe en spectaculair uitzicht is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Vila Cova de Alva, where guests can makes the most of its pool with a view, open-air bath and garden. The whole feel of the place was relaxing and somewhat a great retreat. Dani was a great host, so kind and attentive, offering meal options and then 1 night cooking with the other guests for one evening, a really nice vibe. Dani speaks 5 languages so we felt very much at home, as did other guests from different backgrounds, which created a strong bond between us. The pool and grounds are exceptional and worth a visit by its own.
