I turned up at Cat Ba and sent a whatsapp and a boat came and picked me up from the island. On the second night we went to their hostel on the island and had a few drinks and some food, and everyone there was just as friendly. Really, anything you need and they're so happy to help. Would highly recommend!

Very friendly and welcoming hosts ready to help with local trip advice, bike, tours and bus to next destination. They even served two breakfasts for me every day, as I usually eat a lot. Room is clean, view is beautiful, food is tasty. Close to the city

Fantastic location, great shared terrace with a view, really warm and hospitable hosts. All the privacy you want, but still feeling at home. The cruise they recommended and booked for us was good and great value for price, we also had help with transfer to and from the port. Would absolutely come back!

Wow!!!! This place was perfect!! Great location, super clean, i mean so clean you could literally eat off the floor!! Beautiful smoking lounge on the rooftop. Great location with a short walk to the center. We had breakfast every morning prepared by the owners wife that was absolutely delicious and the highlight was when the owner Mr Throng would come up to your table each morning with his own home brewed fruity Rice wine and pour you a shot with him and say “This is how we say good morning in vietnam” and believe me it was good, so good i asked him for a second round ;) Mr throng was very helpful with booking us an excursion the first day and renting his bike, he even pulled out a map of the island explaining to us in detail what route to take to get to the near by attractions and how long it would take and timed it perfectly so that we would reach the Jetty on the otherside of the island on time for a beautiful sunset. he even advised us about the money exchange rates in Cat ba advising us to try our best to pay by card or local currency and to save our dollars to exchange them in a bigger city so that the we would get a higher rate. his genuine character and warm personality made our stay in Cat ba a memorable one for sure! Would definitely without a doubt recommend Cat ba central homestay to anyone that is planing to visit and would definitely stay here if we ever return to cat bar in the future!!!!
