This stay at Maggie May exceeded our expectations by far, beautiful sights, lovely people an authentic and rustic experience and a first if you have not experienced life on the water but always wondered. Addo River-View Lodge offers accommodation in Colchester, 38 km from Port Elizabeth. This holiday home offers free WiFi and free private parking is available on site. The location of the property was perfect! We were going to the Addo Elephant Reserve and the property is a 5-minute drive from the south gate. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our host, Leanne. She was incredibly informative about the park and the local area. She recommended a local restaurant that served delicious food and gave us information about local facilities. She gave us a tour around the property to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. The property was incredibly clean and well-presented throughout. It is light (large windows) and airy. The veranda overlooking the river was one of our favourite places to sit. We watched the sun rise and set over the Addo River and we watched a pair of Mongoose playing in the field behind the house. We took a stroll down to the river and watched life go by from the pier. The bedding/towels/soft furnishing etc. was immaculate and the beds were sensationally comfortable. The bathroom facilities were top-notch (hot water & good water pressure). We also appreciated the fact that the car parking was undercover, so our vehicle was constantly in the shade. A cool car in November in South Africa is a definite blessing. We did not use the pool, but it was lovely, clean and private. We loved our stay and would recommend this excellent property very highly. Thanks, Leanne for making our stay as perfect as it was.

Situated on the banks of the Sundays River, Sundune Guest House offers a garden with terrace . There is also a shared lounge. The property is very safe, as they have CCTV and electric fences. The room is clean and comfortable, and you can easily tell that they really paid attention to details. It is really nice to walk along the river behind the property in the morning or evening. What I like the most is the manager, Leanne. She is a wise lady and very informative. She gave me a lot of tips about travelling in South Africa and also Addo Elephant Park. I told her I wanted to try bobotie before I left the country and she recommended me to visit Nanaga Farm Stall. Thanks to Leanne, I managed to find bobotie pie there =) Unfortunately, I was only there for one night. If not, I really think that there are many things that I can learn from her
