WAY SHIRAKAWAGO - Private, Free Parking and Newly Opened 2022 WAY SHIRAKAWAGO ligger i Shirakawa, 46 km fra Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, og tilbyder værelser med aircondition, gratis wi-fi og... The room was super spacious - the biggest one on our trip to Japan. I slept on the japanese style matress on the floor and it was super confortable. They have a very well equiped kitchen. And they offer a few drinks, jam, bread, and also 1 curry and rice per person, which was really nice. They have a beatiful and very helpful handmade guide for shirakawago, that stays on the main table - we used it to find good restaurants, attractions, and also learned about the history of the village. The isolation from the cold was very good - but I don't know if we could avaluate that super well, since it was a ratter warm night for Shirakawago's standards. They only had 1 shower/tub and 2 toilets. At first it got me worried it would be jammed to shower/use the toilet. But I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to shower and never had to wait to use the toilet, even with the place in full capacity. After all, the place is small with few rooms. Since it is really expensive to stay in Shirakawago, it wasn't that cheap. But it was a very fair price for the great experience we had.

The guesthouse gives a homely feeling, and we were warmly welcomed by the owner even if we arrived a bit late. It was the perfect stay as a base for the nakasendo trail. The house is completely renovated but you can feel how it was 110 years back when it was built. It has all the amenities you might need, and the spaces are huge! Great relaxing garden in the back :)

Toraya ligger i Gero, 48 km fra Takayama Station og 49 km fra Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village. Der er fælles opholdsstue og rolig gadeudsigt. This was a great find! The location, facilities, staff and breakfast was excellent. The Onsen was outdoor and had a beautiful garden setting. The check-in was very personable and informative about what to see and where to eat. We will return.

Guest House Motomiya ligger i Magome-kvarteret i Nakatsugawa, 20 km fra Enakyo Wonderland og 40 km fra landsbyen Japan Taisho. Der tilbydes rolig gadeudsigt og fælles opholdsstue. It was great. The design of the house was traditional, and the host has made it extremely clean and tidy.

Guesthouse Nedoko ligger i Nakatsugawa, 21 km fra Ōi og 21 km fra Enakyo Wonderland. Der er bjergudsigt. We loved our stay here before heading up to Tsumago. Cozy room with a writing desk overlooking a beautiful view of the mountains. Bathrooms and showers were very clean, nice breakfast/kitchen area.

Itomori blev bygget i 2018 og ligger 7 minutters gang fra JR Takayama Station. Takayamas gamle bydel ligger 6 minutters gang derfra, og Takayama Jinya ligger 10 minutters gang derfra. Excellent location, close to everything but still quiet. Beds were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning worked very well.
