Situated 1.5 km from Takayama Station, Iroriyado Hidaya is a recently renovated 4-star accommodation in Takayama, boasting a garden, a shared lounge and private parking. The staff is really great and the treatment is beyond excellent. They were always amazing and make sure we had a great time. The hotel is really beautiful and you get to sleep in a real Japanese ryokan

46 km from Hida Minzoku Mura Folk Village, WAY SHIRAKAWAGO - Private, Free Parking and Newly Opened 2022 WAY SHIRAKAWAGO is a recently renovated property set in Shirakawa and offers air-conditioned... The room was super spacious - the biggest one on our trip to Japan. I slept on the japanese style matress on the floor and it was super confortable. They have a very well equiped kitchen. And they offer a few drinks, jam, bread, and also 1 curry and rice per person, which was really nice. They have a beatiful and very helpful handmade guide for shirakawago, that stays on the main table - we used it to find good restaurants, attractions, and also learned about the history of the village. The isolation from the cold was very good - but I don't know if we could avaluate that super well, since it was a ratter warm night for Shirakawago's standards. They only had 1 shower/tub and 2 toilets. At first it got me worried it would be jammed to shower/use the toilet. But I didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes to shower and never had to wait to use the toilet, even with the place in full capacity. After all, the place is small with few rooms. Since it is really expensive to stay in Shirakawago, it wasn't that cheap. But it was a very fair price for the great experience we had.

Guesthouse SHIGI is located in Nakatsugawa, 46 km from Gero Station, 24 km from Ōi, as well as 24 km from Enakyo Wonderland. I loved everything about this place. Absolutely the highlight of my trip. And funny enough, there was no other guests so I had the whole place to myself! The town is very cute and the house is just incredible. It had everything a person could ask for in an accommodation. Everything works perfectly. The design is very beautiful. The house is even more beautiful in real life. I will never forget it. I think I told Assi how much I loved it too many times :) Assi was the most helpful host, he was very friendly, curious to know about my trip, he even picked me up from the station when I unfortunately missed the train. And dropped me off to the bus stop when I wanted to visit the near village. I hope to visit it again in future. Thank you again, thank you very much.

Offering mountain views, Guesthouse Nedoko is an accommodation situated in Nakatsugawa, 21 km from Ōi and 21 km from Enakyo Wonderland. We loved our stay here before heading up to Tsumago. Cozy room with a writing desk overlooking a beautiful view of the mountains. Bathrooms and showers were very clean, nice breakfast/kitchen area.

Built in 2018, Itomori is located a 7-minute walk form JR Takayama Station. The old town of Takayama is 6 minutes on foot, while Takayama Jinya is a 10-minute stroll. We're having an amazing time at this place! The host is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always quick to answer our questions. The house is fully equipped with everything we need, making it both convenient to cook meals and close to some of our favorite destinations.
