Luxurious ryokan Fuji Onsenji Yumedono is located just 500 metres from Lake Kawaguchiko. This was an exceptional stay. While the onsen doesn't offer a direct view of mount Fuji, we could clearly see it on our drive over thanks to clear skies. When we entered the premises, the staff was attentive immediately. From taking our luggage to making sure we were set up in our room. The room was SPACIOUS, with a lounge area and bedroom with screens to close off sections. The highlight was having our own outdoor bath to enjoy during cold winter nights. Perhaps the most breathtaking aspect of our stay were the meals. We were blown away by our dinner. It was the best thing we ate during out entire trip in Japan (we were in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto prior). We enjoyed a sumptuous parade of dishes that really showed off the local ingredients. We didn't think it could get better, but breakfast the next day was equally, if not more, delicious. While expensive, we enjoyed a serene getaway with our private outdoor bath and excellent meals. Would love to return.

The rooms were very clean and the owner goes out of the way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A very relaxing place. They provide microwave & toaster which most of the hotels do not provide. Loved the automated toilet bowl!

Beautifully located on the hill amongst trees, it was a very peaceful location. We arrived in the middle of a storm and the staff were extremely lovely, accommodating, and generous. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and warm, and we woke up to the most beautiful view of Mt Fuji. The barbecue and kitchen facilities were also fabulous. Easily the coolest place we’ve stayed. Great coffee too! We will be recommending this to all of our friends/family.

The location and the view of Mt Fuji at the property was just spectacular. The food and service was impeccable. Nina Lin was sharing with us all the great spots to take photos of Mt Fuji and we really enjoyed our conversations with her. The other older lady was very helpful and hospitable as well and we can't praise them enough for making our stay so memorable!
