They took the time to even book us some day trips with some tourist guides they know, and we were not disappointed. They took very good care of us, and we had some unforgettable moments and lifetime experiences. The owners trusted us with the drinks, and we felt like home, just like the meaning of the word KOUNZO. Please take the time to sit and chat with the owners as this is - 1st of all - not a typical cold B&B but rather a big warm international family. 2dly - they are so knowledge of life and have a couple of amazing stories to tell. So get the right spirit while visiting them, not matter if you go with your partner, a group of friends, or your family. We left our hearts there and with eyes full of tears of joy. One of the reasons that I booked were the lovely reviews about the food and I could not have chosen a better place. Breakfast was very basic like the other places we stayed in Senegal (we usually buy fruits to add in our meals) but lunch and dinner were yummy yummy. I loved the small charming details during each meal. Muito obrigada!!! Highly recommend that you do the tour with the local guide - it was nice to know the history and traditions of Mar Lodje. We missed the service of the Catholic Church on Sunday but if you can book your stay to be there - looks amazing!

I only stayed two nights, but would have been happy to stay on an another to take a tour through the mangroves. The owners Celine and Gilles were very friendly and it was great to speak with them over dinner. They also offered some recommendations for future stops on my trip, since I had done almost no planning before coming to Senegal.

The warm reception at a rest hole by an artistic local soul. The dive in the Atlantic from this island. A 13,000 cfa per kg of fresh sea lobsters for dinner. Plus a 1000 cfa large squid, it was the best deal.

The house was clean and safe and the kitchen is well-equipped. Enough space for a group of for friends. The location at the beach is superb and you can wonderfully relax on the sunbeds and watch the sunset. The staff took good care of us. Recommended!
