Nguel du Saloum - Chez Abdou et Mar er staðsett í Mar Lodj og býður upp á gistirými með setusvæði. Gistirýmið er með svalir og útsýni yfir kyrrláta götuna. Mar and her husband Abdou are great hosts who really make you feel welcome from the heart! We stayed for a whole week with them and felt like being at home :) They provide you with all the info you need and organize a smooth transport from Dakar to their place for the guests (if needed) at a fair price. Mar Lodj is a great chance to experience real Senegalese country side life and the Sahel. It is an island in the river delta and the four villages on the island are well worth visiting. Many excursions and activities are possible and all can be organized by Mar and her family and nice bathing spots on the river-delta (good for swimming in clean water!) can be reached in only a few minutes. The accomodation provides full board if you like and always has cool drinks at hand which is great in the often hot climate in the afternoon. Nguel du Saloum is built with in traditional courtyard style with has a cozy feeling - so lying in one of the hammocks or on a sofa in the open air living room in the shade is just great any time! Solar panels insure constant power supply and we highly respect the effort Mar and Abdou went/go through in order to supply such a nice accomodation in a place where supply of goods and infrastructure can be really limited at times! (transport on the island is by horse-carriage (great!) as there are no roads (wonderful, no car horns, no traffic fumes and jams!) - just to give you an idea ) Thanks again for everything, Mar and Abdou and we hope that many more people find their way to your wonderful place! It is really worth visiting and we truly hope to come back again to see you again at Nguel du Saloum in the future (with "el musculator" of course :)!

Céline's place is excellent - located in the fairly large village of Toubakouta, close to the border with the Gambia, and sitting right on the Sine Saloum Delta. The rooms are large and comfortable, equipped with Mosquito nets, showers and plenty of storage space. The atmosphere around the lodge is relaxed and comfortable, with communal spaces for sitting and chatting, playing games (also provided) and taking meals together. The food is also very good, with fresh bread from the local bakery, homemade jams, juices and yogurt and even some Korean options. There are numerous activities to take part in, easy to choose from from a 'a la carte' book (in Both English and French). This includes things like boats or kayaks in the Delta, guided tours of the region on foot or bike, as well as more surprising options like Tai Chi, African Drumming or lessons on cookery. We took part in a day-long trip with local guide Doudou (who is also excellent) on the water to some of the island and villages in the Delta, and it was fantastic as we got to lunch together with some local people in the Senegalese style. If you're not sure what you would like to do, there's Céline can also help guide you and many of the choices can be arranged at fairly short notice, meaning it's perfectly possible to show up with no plans and just take it from there. Finally, its also worth mentioning that Céline and her husband Gilles who run the Keur Niaye, are also well-known and clearly well respected within the community. They, and their staff, support a number of good causes across Toubakouta and the surrounding area.

B&B Mariamacounda er með sundlaugarútsýni og býður upp á gistingu með sundlaug með útsýni, garð og bar, í um 23 km fjarlægð frá Fathala-friðlandinu. The place looks absolutelly great, we just loved it.

La kora er staðsett í innan við 24 km fjarlægð frá Fathala-friðlandinu og í 49 km fjarlægð frá Niumi-þjóðgarðinum í Toubakouta. Boðið er upp á gistirými með setusvæði. It was an amazing stay. The breakfast was amazing. Everyone was so kind. We arrived late and they were waiting for us. I highly recommend staying here!!

Campement Hakuna Lodge er staðsett í Mar Lodj og býður upp á 3 stjörnu gistirými með baði undir berum himni. Wonderful food. Kind staff. Beautifully calm. So much exciting nature. Super clean - everywhere, was spotless. Couldn't do more to help and ensure you were having an amazing time. Felt totally looked after. Communication to arrive safely was so helpful. The free use of paddle/canoe/bicycles is so generous.

"An oasis of serenity" The view of the Atlantic Ocean at sunset. The sound of the waves splashing on the sandy beach as you sleep into the night. The peaceful sound of nature that whispers into your ears in the morning reassuring your mind and soul of a brand new day full of life, hope and peace. The pelican filled island of Sanghomar and the mangroves of Javier. The nice ice cold drinking water at one of the stores in this village, not to mention the two 'made to be' cold codys beer I never expected but had in the island. The warm reception at a rest hole by an artistic local soul. The dive in the Atlantic from this island. A 13,000 cfa per kg of fresh sea lobsters for dinner. Plus a 1000 cfa large squid, it was the best deal.

Fathala Wildlife Reserve er staðsett í Toubakouta og býður upp á útisundlaug. Gististaðurinn býður upp á dýralífsupplifun. Ókeypis einkabílastæði eru í boði á staðnum. Awesome place. Great food, friendly staff, and cool rooms. Nice to chill and watch animals.

Case beach er staðsett í Ngalou Sessène á Fatick-svæðinu og er með garð. Gististaðurinn er með aðgang að verönd og ókeypis einkabílastæði. A simple, but enjoyable house with a lot of charm. The house was clean and safe and the kitchen is well-equipped. Enough space for a group of for friends. The location at the beach is superb and you can wonderfully relax on the sunbeds and watch the sunset. The staff took good care of us. Recommended!
