Mar and her husband Abdou are great hosts who really make you feel welcome from the heart! We stayed for a whole week with them and felt like being at home :) They provide you with all the info you need and organize a smooth transport from Dakar to their place for the guests (if needed) at a fair price. Mar Lodj is a great chance to experience real Senegalese country side life and the Sahel. It is an island in the river delta and the four villages on the island are well worth visiting. Many excursions and activities are possible and all can be organized by Mar and her family and nice bathing spots on the river-delta (good for swimming in clean water!) can be reached in only a few minutes. The accomodation provides full board if you like and always has cool drinks at hand which is great in the often hot climate in the afternoon. Nguel du Saloum is built with in traditional courtyard style with has a cozy feeling - so lying in one of the hammocks or on a sofa in the open air living room in the shade is just great any time! Solar panels insure constant power supply and we highly respect the effort Mar and Abdou went/go through in order to supply such a nice accomodation in a place where supply of goods and infrastructure can be really limited at times! (transport on the island is by horse-carriage (great!) as there are no roads (wonderful, no car horns, no traffic fumes and jams!) - just to give you an idea ) Thanks again for everything, Mar and Abdou and we hope that many more people find their way to your wonderful place! It is really worth visiting and we truly hope to come back again to see you again at Nguel du Saloum in the future (with "el musculator" of course :)!

Offering a restaurant, Bed and breakfast Keur Niaye is located in Toubakouta. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a terrace. Great guesthouse/B&B in Toubacouta in a very peaceful and quiet village. Rooms are totally comfortable and nicely designed, and the meal that I ate here was excellent. I only stayed two nights, but would have been happy to stay on an another to take a tour through the mangroves. The owners Celine and Gilles were very friendly and it was great to speak with them over dinner. They also offered some recommendations for future stops on my trip, since I had done almost no planning before coming to Senegal.

We really liked the B&B in general but were especially impressed with the excursions that were offered. David gave us a guided boat tour where we visited the small nearby island towns of Sipo and Missirah and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Jenny was also very helpful with the logistics (especially because I don't speak French!) and helping me organise our time in Senegal. El Hadj is their taxi driver and we organised pretty much our whole trip throughout Senegal with him - he was fantastic. And there are a few restaurants nearby with delicious food. The breakfast offered at the B&B was delicious. Thank you!

It was an amazing stay. The breakfast was amazing. Everyone was so kind. We arrived late and they were waiting for us. I highly recommend staying here!!

The place is amazing, in the heart of nature. Everything is spontaneous and relaxed. You have your time and space, and you can choose what you want to do on the island as there are many activities. Take you time. Breakfast and dinner are delicious. The stuff are polite.. Enjoy mornings with bird sounds....

La maison sur la plage has a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, garden, a bar and shared lounge in Palmarin. Boasting a 24-hour front desk, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. "An oasis of serenity" The view of the Atlantic Ocean at sunset. The sound of the waves splashing on the sandy beach as you sleep into the night. The peaceful sound of nature that whispers into your ears in the morning reassuring your mind and soul of a brand new day full of life, hope and peace. The pelican filled island of Sanghomar and the mangroves of Javier. The nice ice cold drinking water at one of the stores in this village, not to mention the two 'made to be' cold codys beer I never expected but had in the island. The warm reception at a rest hole by an artistic local soul. The dive in the Atlantic from this island. A 13,000 cfa per kg of fresh sea lobsters for dinner. Plus a 1000 cfa large squid, it was the best deal.

Offering an outdoor pool, Fathala Wildlife Reserve is located in Toubakouta. The property offers a wildlife experience. Free private parking is possible on site. I liked everything about Fathala Wildlife Reserve. The tented room was large, quiet, clean and very comfortable. The A/C worked well, and I paid for a router in the room to have excellent WiFi connections. I loved the outdoor shower, and the peace and serenity of the setting.

Ubytovanie Case beach sa nachádza v destinácii Ngalou Sessène. Tento dovolenkový dom má záhradu a bezplatné súkromné parkovisko. A simple, but enjoyable house with a lot of charm. The house was clean and safe and the kitchen is well-equipped. Enough space for a group of for friends. The location at the beach is superb and you can wonderfully relax on the sunbeds and watch the sunset. The staff took good care of us. Recommended!
