Most are OK, some not great, but few are truly exceptional. The Sail Lofts are firmly in the exceptional category. The accommodation was excellent - comfortable and smartly furnished, the location was outstanding, the breakfast provided (in advance) was the best I've ever seen, and the stay was great value for money. Truly a (very rare) 10/10 for me, by far and away the best spot in Douglas that I've stayed - and there have been many!

Yolandi and Jacques went above and beyond to provide a perfect stay in their charming B&B. The room was perfect with a very comfy bed & excellent facilities. Everywhere was spotless with the room being cleaned and tea/coffee/etc replaced each day. There were lots of added touches with little extras at the start and end of the stay and the hosts were even kind enough to leave a birthday card & present when they realised it was my birthday! The breakfast choice was wonderful, with everything cooked freshly and served quickly.

The property is close to the bay and just 0.7 miles away from the Isle of Man Government. All basics were fully met. Well equipped kitchen. Spacious bedrooms. Very comfortable beds. Nice linens, thick towels. Great location with many restarants nearby. Multiple electrical outlets in every room. Tesco 5 minute walk. Excellent wifi.

Situated 2 minutes’ walk from the beach, The Devonian features a view over the Glen Falcon and landscaped gardens. Douglas town centre and the start and finish point for the Isle of Man TT motorcycle race are just a 5-minute walk. We stayed at The Devonian a number of times over the past years - our first time was in 2005, this August we spent 5 nights there on occasion of the Manx Grand Prix. We keep coming back because Kevin and Gillian run a most excellent guest house. They are very kind, welcoming and hospitable proprietors, who go out of their way to make you feel at home, together with their friendly support staff. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The breakfast options are varied and cooked to order - we tried most of them (not all, as there are just too many choices for only a 5-night stay!) and all were simply delicious. We cannot recommend this guesthouse enough!

Just returned from a lovely 4 night stay at The Cottage. This is a beautifully presented quirky one bedroom cottage, perfect for the two of us. Upon arrival The Cottage was immaculate & is very well supplied with everything you need for a self catering holiday. There is instant hot water even when heating isn't on, shower has great water pressure too. There is a small private patio area off the kitchen which we didn't use during our stay but in height of summer will be a lovely place to sit. The cottage is alongside the electric railway embankment & viaduct; we believe the cottage was there long before the railway (very slight noise as the train passes, but not intrusive at all). Approx a 10 mins walk to Laxey Beach which when we were there the sun was shining & the bay was a busy & happy place. We used (for the first time) public transport into Douglas, buses were every half hour up until 10pm, then hourly (good app available to check times etc). Short walk up some slightly steep hills onto the main road where there's local shops, pubs the electric railway & where you pick up public transport. Highly recommend & would definitely look at staying here again next time we're on the island.

This beachfront property offers access to a patio. The aparthotel offers quiet street views, a picnic area, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. The accommodation was exactly as described, bigger than I'd imagined and in a beautiful setting. It was wonderfully clean and high quality with everything we could have needed including the small important things we always forget in self-catering - washing up liquid, tea towels, kitchen roll, dishwasher tablets etc. Asma and Lisa could not have been more helpful or accommodating. A perfect stay, thank you so much.
