We stayed for 4 nights in one of the separate houses, which was really spacious, lovingly decorated, offered total privacy and also the most amazing sunset panoramas. The sound of the birds at dawn and dusk and the parrots flying over every evening was unforgettable. We had everything we needed, the kitchen was well stocked, there were even snacks and drinks to buy if needed and there was a delicious menu to choose from if you wanted to order breakfast or dinner. We had dinner one night and it was really excellent food; we wished we’d done it more often. The pool area and grounds are a little piece of paradise. You can’t get enough of the view from the pool area and the pool itself is just beautiful. the whole property is completely unique and the best place we stayed in a month long trip in Costa Rica. Add to that the wonderful host Susanne, who organized so much for us, and the sweet dog Negrita, we wouldn’t hesitate to come back or to recommend this place to people looking for something truly special.

Excellent stay at Los Pinos! Our family deluxe cabin was perfect for our family of 4 and gave us all the space we needed. The balcony with the hammocks and lots of seating was a great way to enjoy the amazing weather. The cabin was very clean and had absolutely everything you need. Amazing nature within the grounds - we saw lots of armadillos, agoutis, coatis, and lots of birds including toucans. There are also several walking trails in the grounds that lead to a great viewpoint over the forest and all the way to the sea. The location is also perfect - within 5 minutes walk, there are 3 restaurants, a coffee shop that does excellent breakfasts, several souvenir shops, and a well stocked supermarket. All trips pick up from Los Pinos so there is no need for a car.

The property is great - assuming you are coming to Monteverde to see birds, feel the clouds, and enjoy local foods! This place has it all. Our party of 4 couples had the whole place to ourselves - we did have some noisy convesations and laughters. We did some impromptu shows at the amphitheater - what a cool place. Every morning we saw several guided tour groups setting up telescopes trained to the trees in the property, while we simply stood on balcony, coffee in hand. Andrea was great in getting what we wanted. highly recommended!

We felt really spoiled in this treehouse so closed to the road, but also in the middle of the forest. The main bedroom has 180 views to the forest, while the living room has also a beautiful view towards a terrace. Every morning we had our private birds show in the trees in front of the terrace. My husband was working outside, and the birds weren’t shy at all to sit very closed to him and show of their colorful plumage. We were only two, but the cabin can fit four comfortably. And it has two bathrooms which we really appreciated it. The kitchen had all the tools a cook could dream of, but we only used a few. 😊 Definitely, a place to recharge and enjoy the nature.

The house was very cozy and was just the right amount of space for two of us. The hosts were very responsive and provided good recommendations!

We were met by Gabriel, Regina's son, who was welcoming and helpful with advice regarding day trips.

Our cabin had a little heater and one of the first hot showers we've had in almost two months. It was bliss. Our little balcony was perfect for sharing some nibbles and wine while watching the birds. The family is so beautiful and kind. The kitchen is a large commercial kitchen and is spotlessly clean. The complimentary breakfast is very tasty, they even let us take the left over fruit each morning to have later.

Felt a lot closer to nature than other properties we have stayed at in Costa Rica. Good cooking facilities. Melissa was super helpful and arranged tours, taxi and onward shuttle for us. Walk to town was approx 15 mins were there was lots of restaurants. This is possible even in dark as the road was reasonably well lit. Taxi beyond top to town was only 4K colones.

It is a short 15 min walk into town and there is a small supermarket over the road for supplies. The kitchen is a useful addition for a bit of self catering. The staff were very helpful in booking $6 return shuttles to the 2 main national parks and other activities. we were lucky with the weather-it was very windy at times, but the sun shone.
