Special place, the room is so well thought out, spatious and has all the comfort. The hosts Juan and Amalia were amazing. The food was very tasty. Juan gave us a tour with a traditional boat and provided a lot of interesting details about the local community.

We loved the warm and traditional welcome awaiting us on this family island in Uros. Carlos and Mirabel went out of their way to make us feel at home. We liked the food and appreciated multiple duvets on the bed and hot water bottles at nighttime. Carlos and his brother Brandy were informative and knowledgeable about the real life of the Uros people and we still have no idea how Mirabel made such wonderful food in such a tiny kitchen.

Titicaca Aruntawi Lodge Peru ligger i Puno och erbjuder boende med utsikt över sjön. Frukost ingår varje dag. Boendet ligger 7 km från stadens centrum och precis framför Titicacasjön. Eddy and his family are wonderful. They made getting to and from their island so easy (and we had a very early bus when we left). We stayed two nights and whilst this experience may not be for everyone, it has been a highlight of our trip so far. The accommodation is (and has to be) very simple. You're on a floating platform of reeds! But it's a good size, the bed is comfortable and lovely and warm (helped by Eddy's mama's wrapped hot water bottles). It gets COLD at night as others have mentioned but tucked up snugly it doesn't matter. Bathroom facilities are verrrry basic, if you like cold water you're in for a treat. And it really isn't the place for anyone unsteady on their feet. You're walking on planks on top of reeds and climbing uneven stairs. If these are not an issue then treat yourself to a couple of nights there, it's magic. Also, Eddy includes a great 2 hour tour which is a must. He took us out at 10am and we had lunch at one of the other islands (also included).

Uros Samarana Uta Lodge ligger i Puno och erbjuder en solterrass och utsikt över bergen. Titicacasjön ligger 7 km från boendet. Cesar and Lucy were great hosts. Cesar gave us a very nice tour around his community and answered lots of our questions. He also took us to his son's school to pick him up. We saw how the elementary school was run in the community and got to meet the children and teachers, which was a very unique and memorable experience. Lucy fed us really well with different kinds of food, including trout, chicken and fruits. The view was amazing from our room. We saw some pink and purple thunderstorm at night. The bed was very comfortable with soft linens. It was cold at night and hot in the middle of the day, so prepare to wear layers. The room has a gas powered heater and thick blankets, which kept us warm at night. Instead of paying money to a tourist agency, we paid directly to the host. We were happy that we could support locals in this way, as their economy heavily relies on tourism.

A unique experience of a unique culture. Ivan is an absolute gem and an ambassador of the UROS people. It’s hard to describe how special and unique these floating islands are, and how special is their way of life. The house are very modern and comfortable. The food is simple but delicious. The stars at night alone are worth the visit. If you’re ok the fence, just do it. You won’t regret it.

Located on Uros floating island, Uros Summa Paqari is situated in Puno, 7 km from Titicaca Lake. Puno Port is 5 km away. All rooms are fitted with private bathroom facilities. The staff are amazing, once in a lifetime experience. we loved every minute of it

Uros Qhantany Lodge ligger 5 km utanför Puno och är byggt på de flytande öarna i Uros. Här erbjuds boende mitt i Titicacasjön. Punos kust ligger 30 minuters segel bort. Diana and Wilbur were wonderful hosts and made us feel so comfortable be as well as taught us about the Uros community. They helped us get to and from Puno and everything was very smooth. The lake itself and the lodge is so peaceful and beautiful. This was such a special stay and the food and hospitality was exceptional, also the bed was enormous and there were lots of blankets and a heater so we were warm even in the winter. Our favourite stay in Peru!
