Everything about the place was wonderful.
It was peaceful, and the stars were incredible.

The location, serenity and extras provided by host.
One of the most scenic places we have ever seen. We went back into the park late at night to stargaze. We had never seen the Milky Way look like that. Utterly beguiling, a true “must do”. Dove Lake is just a perfect place to visit. We will definitely be returning.

An absolutely stunning national park, with lakes and mountains and lots of fresh air!
There is only one road into the park, and once you have passed the visitor centre and various accommodation options, CM can only be accessed via the Park Service's shuttle buses. This has stopped the nightmare of people driving on roads they are not capable of handling, and makes your trip up to Dove Lake far more pleasant,
Check the park service's website for ticket options and prices, and also for the range of marked walking trails to suit all capabilities.
Check out the photos, and make sure you visit at least once!

If you love walking, hiking or mountains in general Cradle Mountain is a blessing. Walks and circuits for every person, from the easy to the challenging one, from 20 minutes to 10 hours depending on your readiness, fitness, and training. Clean and well-maintained with spectacular views from the top, weather permitting :-). Keep in mind that you are in a mountain environment and the weather can change quickly and completely in a very short time. Good phone coverage on quite the whole area, and if you are into astrophotography its a Bortle 1 sky, cannot get better then that.

We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain.
We loved our visit to Cradle Mountain. Our first stop was the Devils @ Cradle sanctuary where we had an excellent tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the Tasmanian Devil and the Quolls at the sanctuary. We were able to see 5 Devils being fed. Though they looked cute, they had very sharp teeth and managed to tear through the meat and bones quickly. We then went on a bus trip to Dove Lake and were able to take some great photos. Would love to visit here again.

Love the walks at Cradle Mountain.
Love the walks at Cradle Mountain. We went to devils@cradel which was so interesting. Really recommend it but keep your hands out of the devil enclosures! Bring warm clothes - lots of layers is best. We were there end of Feb and it was cold at night and early morning. We had a wild wombat just amble by, eating as it went.

Location was great for catching the Cradle Mountain bus into Cradle Mountain. Breakfast had excellent options, room was neat, cute with great views to spy on cheeky wombats, great walks to catch wombats in the afternoon/evenings, the gas fire place was a nice touch and it was nice to be grounded without the distruption of wifi/TV. Peppers was a nice place to unwind and relax away from socials and the outside world. Wifi worked well in the lounge. Staff were really welcoming and friendly
We received a complimentary upgrade from a standard room to a King room which looked out down the hillside and I was able to see a few wallabies feeding in the surrounds. Dinner in the Hotel Bar Lounge was very nice and breakfast the following morning provided a good range to select form. The hotel is very convenient to other attractions in Cradle Mountain with just a very short drive to the National Park Visitors Centre as well as Devils @ Cradle Mountain.
Our family of three absolutely loved our stay at the Cradle Mountain Highlanders. It was our favourite accommodation whilst in Tassie. It was very clean and well appointed. Excellent cooking facilities. The beds were super comfortable. The cabins are spaced well appart with trees all around with wildlife literally at your doorstep. It was such a peaceful, private place to stay, so quiet. We would definitely stay here again.
Cradle Mountain Highlanders is a exceptional property. If you are going to spend any time at Cradle Mountain stay here if you can get a room. The property is Clean and the Staff is great. I had to adjust my dates and the staff did it with out going trough booking. You can walk to the visitors center and catch the bus to all the stops on the mountain. Great Great Place!
Location is amazing right in the heart of cradle mountain. The tracks, landscape, cabins, dining were all beyond expectations. Buffet breakfast is the best way to sustain a big day of exploring. Dinner at either the Tavern or Highland restaurant is 10/10! Will definitely visit again and try the different seasons.
The Tavern food was absolutely delicious and well priced. Our Cabin was towards the back of the hotel area with a forest walk right outside our door. The forest view was amazing, so calming and peaceful. The hotel itself is just outside the national park, and a 2min walk to the nearest shuttle bus stop.
Cosy modern chalet accommodation with good heating and comfy beds. Great location very close to all activities at Cradle Mountain. The staff at reception and in Hellyer's lounge were extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area
We were in one of the new cabins and it was great. Had everything we needed, bed was comfy and it even has a fireplace in the living room. Would definitely come back to stay here again if we ever head up to Cradle Mountain again.
Self contained cabins set amongst bush. Private surrounds with only one other cabin in sight. Close to the visitors centre and shuttle into the park. Great restaurant and guest lounge with views to Cradle Mountain. Lovely staff.
Amazing location, right on the edge of the cradle mountain national park.
There a multiple walks that begin within the grounds of the lodge.
Staff were very friendly and the food at both the restaurant and bistro was great,
Location of the Discovery Park, is its greatest advantage. Its quiet, peaceful and walking distance to cradle mountain visitor centre. Getting in and out of the lodge is vey easy. Cabins are big enough to host a family.
I did not use their restaurant as we were self catering, however the resort was very close to the info centre where the Cradle Mountain buses left for Dove Lake.
We also had access to a guest laundry for our use.
Location right near the Cradle Mountain park entrance. Great grounds to be able to spot a wombat and do a short 15 minute boardwalk right at the hotel door. Room comfortable and staff welcoming.
Comfortable, roomy cabins opposite the National Park visitor centre. perfect spot to base yourself for a visit to Dove Lake and Cradle Mountain. Plenty of firewood provided for the fireplace.
Very cute cabin in wonderful Cradle Mountain. Loved the fireplace on a cold night. Kitchen well equipped. Perfect location, near the Cradle Mountain National Park and Tasmanian Devils.
Great choice - well situated to Cradle Mountain National Park. Very good breakfast. Short walking trail from hotel with wild life. Laundry facilities were available.
Very comfortable cabins in beautiful surrounds right on the edge of Cradle Mountain national park. Self contained kitchen but also an excellent restaurant on-site
great bar/ bistro with friendly and professional staff, good size room with comfy bed, fire places in hallways, short nature walk straight from the hotel door
