The Acacia is a lovely hotel. In addition to the large comfortable rooms with modern bathrooms, the staff is wonderful. I cannot say enough about the level of professionalism, kindness and hospitality provided. One of the staff members even accompanied us to the medical clinic. Breakfast was also a treat. Location is just off the main square. Very easy walk to everything.

We had an excellent breakfast pack from them on our early morning excursion. Well presented and packed for us to eat as we got hungry on the boat trip. All were wrapped in eco-friendly packaging. 10/10
We were super happy with how they explained their commitment to being responsible towards nature and what they do to be actively involved. The info in the rooms was presented subtly, although not overwhelmingly. The free shopping bags and water bottles were a nice touch.

Puerto Ayora is a place where you can enjoy the nature and have the facilities of touristic places like different restaurants, bars, etc. Unfortunately, because of those facilities the fauna has gone to other islands like San Cristobal so that is a downside, but if you go with family it is a great place to get a screenshot of what Galapagos is.

A small but beautiful city.
A small but beautiful city. It was a fishing village but has been transformed to a tourist town. The main street -- Ave. Charles Darwin, is full of life, literally -- sea lions, iguanas, pelicans, etc. It's an adventure like no other.

It's a nice, friendly town.
It's a nice, friendly town. It's got plenty of ATMS, several grocery stores, and a lovely oceanfront walk. The fish market is a must see in the morning. There are sea lions who hang around waiting for scraps. I also saw iguanas and pelicans waiting for handouts. There's very nice bars, restaurants, and market stalls. It's a little spendy, because you're on an island. There's things you can do for free, on your own. There's also TONS of tour companies running day trips to all the nearby islands. You can walk most anywhere, and there are cheap taxis as well.

The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research...
The touristy part and the harbor to the Darwin research center was full of shops, restaurants both cheap and expensive, street food, and travel agencies. People are friendly and it’s clean and safe.
Los Kiosko is an intense street where people are coming at you with menus trying to get you come to them - at the same time. But they have specials for $5 lunch or dinner plus a regular menu with cheap meals too. Great Ecuadorian food! We ate ice cream everyday! There was a little froyo place on Baltra and a gelato place down the same street closer to the harbor that was excellent. We found pan de yucca at a street food vendor that was magical, though not always open.
Sea lions are everywhere near the water (not in the same capacity as San Cristobal but still).
You can watch blue footed boobies diving into the water all the time and the frigits are out in mass as well!
Everyone is happy.
Also we found our favorite travel agency with the Galapagos Living Travel Agency. They were fair priced and hilarious. Lots of laughs and planning of epic next day adventures.

We liked the laid-back feeling when the main road was closed in the evening and the music of the street musicians. We also liked the accessibility of shops, beaches, wildlife, information centre and harbour,
Above all, we appreciated every smiling face and helpful citizen in town.
Patricia and Washington were wonderful hosts, always accommodating us and making sure we had everything we needed while respecting our privacy. The house is beautiful, extremely comfortable, and clean. Beds were remade every day and we received new towels regularly. Great jacuzzi. It was sad to leave. It is about a 10 min walk from the main street in Puerto Ayora where all the restaurants and national park were. Plenty to do with affordable taxis nearby to get you where you need to go if you don’t like walking.
Hotel Coloma Galapagos was very conveniently located to the main street in Puerto Ayora. The staff who ran the hotel were extremely attentive, friendly, and caring. The cleaning person was exceptionally diligent and the woman who served the breakfast was delightful, even packing up a breakfast for us to go on the day we left for an early flight. My two adult children and i stayed in one room which was plenty large for our needs. The room even had AC which was needed during our stay there.
My husband and I live an Galapagos and have stayed in many hotels in Puerto Ayora. I particularly like this location a few blocks away from the center; it's so much more peaceful and quiet at night! Rooms are large, a/c works great, good hot water showers. We ate breakfast (not included - we bought supplies at the grocery and stored in the mini-fridge in our room) on the communal 2nd floor balcony. Also appreciate the free drinking water.
The staff at the Finch Bay hotel were extremely welcoming, the food was excellent (both for breakfast and dinner) and the location was incredibly special. The walk from the water taxi drop off was longer than expected but so unusual to arrive at a destination this way so it wasn’t a problem. I can honestly say this was the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. There was a feeling of quality and friendliness that made our stay very special.
Beautiful days in Galapagos.
The Blu Galapagos is well located in Puerto Ayora. Shopping possibilities, Restaurants and Bars are just around the corner.
The personal is exeptional with an outstanding support on the tours.
The breakfast is marvelous. At Diner you can watch small sharks, baby stingrays and sea turtels. And the best thing are the sea lions hanging around on the terrace.
Good breakfast, nice hotel in a walking distance from town centre (or you can take a taxi for 1-1.5 dollars) and great, friendly and very helpful staff – a guy from reception took care about me during the whole stay and organised all trips (to Isabela, Pinzón, Seymour Norte and Santa Cruz- El Chato) for me with a local agency for better price, than you can find on internet.
The staff was amazing, always providing great assistance and giving us special offers on the tours. Always perfectly cleaned and the location is just 15 mins walk from the main center. Can just recommend this Hostal for every tourist coming to Puerto Ayora. And I have just booked the second time there. ;) thanks Silvia and Marcelo for the great service and kindness!
Great location near restaurants, shops and activities. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They set up an airport taxi for us and even served us breakfast earlier than normal breakfast time. Hotel grounds are beautiful and rooms all seem to have a little front porch. Rooms are not huge but big enough. Shower had hot water and good pressure.
The Finch House is located near the market of Puerto Ayora, so quite central. There are a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. I had a room with a little kitchen. No stove, but a microwave and a fridge. It was very comfortable and clean. Mercedes, the owner, is very friendly and has good tips for tours. She really makes sure you feel at home.
A modest shared room but the facilities were good, I slept well, the shower was nice, the kitchen had everything I needed. The location seems a bit further out but in reality Puerto Ayora is small so it was a good location. The host was very accommodating and upon arrival gave me helpful tips about quite literally everything to do there!
great location right by the pier in puerto ayora. the place seems very dated and old, but comfortable enough for a few nights, especially considering the price. there is a kitchen with free drinking water. there was a nice, remote controlled fan which kept the room cool. i would stay here again
The location was excellent, just a short walk to the front of Puerto Ayora. We had an extra bed in our room, air con, and were surprised to have a hot shower (due to being in Ecuador). The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels given. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great hostel.
I loved how friendly the family was, the room was very comfortable and clean. You can easily get a 1 dollar taxi to puerto ayora. The breakfast was delicious and big portions. No wifi or service but I expected it so I don’t complain :)
Perfect location! Honestly the best hotel on the island. So cozy. The restaurant is amazing and beautiful view. Every day right at my feet were sea lions, crabs, pelicans and fish. It was a dream .
Ruben is a fantastic host. He was a great support on recommending activities at the galapagos islands. The location is great, close to everything. Would def. recommend the hotel to solo travelers.
The location was quiet and peaceful compared to Puerto Ayora. Breakfast was included and staff was able to adjust time of breakfast to meet my needs. They were helpful in calling taxis to town.
Very well located in the middle of town but also not loud.
Provided early breakfast on a day we were going on a tour which was most appreciated.
Free water in the hotel lobby.
