The hotel is ideally located close to the town. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was good although the scrambled egg was not hot.

We had an enforced stop because our car broke down.
We had an enforced stop because our car broke down. We ended up in the town for 10 days, staying first in a hotel and then an apartment in the city centre. We walked everywhere and saw all the sights offered at this time of the year. A weekend stay is not recommended as many restaurants and shops and places of interest are shut on Sunday and Monday. It is a lovely medieval town full of shops, restaurants and cafes. I recommend the Kitty cafe is you like cats. There are several chocolate shops and one chocolate factory. The museum Labenche is very good and the Mortlake Tapestries are exceptional. If you have a car there are a lot of places to visit nearby. In fine weather lots of walks near the city.

A great little city with lots to do and see.
A great little city with lots to do and see. We took a guided tour of the Denoix distillery which was excellent. A visit to the open market for duck and local produce is recommended. And dinner or lunch at the Gueuleton restaurant was just perfect if your a big meat lover!

I paid for an upgraded room which I did not get. The room I did get was dirty and not a pleasant smell. There is nothing favourite about this hotel - I did not like it and would not stay there again. Little choice in meals in the restaurant - no vegetarian option - and a flea on the table.
On my next visit I would avoid this hotel completely

Brive came over as an archetypal French Town that had its old town in the centre with great shops bars and restaurants. Very clean and very friendly. A day is all you would need to do everything but that was the charm

Charming town. Very few tourists.
Charming town. Very few tourists. Lots of nice restaurants and a wonderful Saturday market with fresh local foods. Very family oriented town; most things (except the churches & rugby) are closed Sunday. Museums don’t offer English translations. Try to catch a rugby match and root on the home team, CA Brive!

We booked this hotel at the last minute as we were traveling back home from Spain to Germany and this location was on route at half way home. It’s a basic budget hotel but you can’t really fault it. Everything is functionally good- beds good , clean space, shower with instant hot water etc etc. Breakfast was basic but good. So we would book with Ibis Budget again, it’s a bit sterile type room and hotel but it does tick the boxes for a comfortable nights sleep and functioning facilities while you are on the road.
A well kept friendly hotel. Bonus being opposite the railway station which was my mode of transport this weekend. Room is well soundproofed though so proximity to station isn’t an issue. Very friendly staff and the quality of the room exceeded expectations at the price. Stayed with my son for a rugby weekend and it was ideal. Short walk in to town and facilities nearby. Would definitely use again if we play against Brive in the future.
A fantastic Hotel in a great location. Central to everything and within easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. We parked the car just behind the hotel which was great.Room was very clean, light and had air con. Bathroom was very clean with a large shower. Bed was very comfortable and roomy. There is a market a couple of times a week just in front of the hotel.
I stayed at La Reserve de Brive on the second day of a 30 day road trip through France & Spain. The hotel was in an excellent location with easy access into the centre of Brive, which is very pleasant and welcoming. The receptionist spoke excellent English, providing me with information about Brive and places to eat.
My room was clean, comfortable and quiet with good facilities.
Giulia told me how to access the hotel since I asked if it was a problem to arrive late. The receptionist leaves at 23:00 so she gave me the code and told me my room number. She also called a taxi for me in the morning. Nice clean place, in good location. I was surprised that breakfast wasn’t included but otherwise it was great.
An old fashioned small hotel just 10 min walk from Brive center. Very friendly but they don't speak English or at least the staff we met didn't. The room was old fashioned but recently painted. We loved the quaintness and the tiny lift. Breakfast was continental but fine. Would use again as value for money and perfect situation.
We could park in front of the hotel. The staff was very welcoming and a very simple check in process (not those that took dozen of minutes with someone talking to their computer rather than to you). The food (dinner and breakfast) was good. Despite been in an industrial area, it was a quiet environment.
A comfortable peaceful environment with everything you need provided. Excellent views of the beautiful town of Brive-la-Gaillarde. Isabelle the host was so helpful and kind and a lovely friendly person. If I'm ever back in this region of France, I won't hesitate to book here again. Loved it! 😊
We stayed here on our way to Toulouse and the hotel is centrally placed a short walk into Brive, with bars and restaurants a plenty. We had a massive bed, big bathroom and a big TV.
We had breakfast which was a fantastic selection of cooked meat, cheese. Bacon scrambled eggs and cereals
Rooms are spacious, very clean and modern. The staff are great and very customer friendly. For instance the hotel called me on the way there to ask if I wanted them to book a restaurant for that evening. Breakfast was also nice.
The location is extremely convenient and the hotel is very easy to find. I appreciated the restaurant down in the hotel. Very friendly staff. The breakfast - additionally paid for - is a good and convenient option.
The price for a suite was very reasonable. Our two dogs were welcome - not size limit! the hotel was clean and the continental breakfast was more than sufficient for the price.
