The hosts were amazing, they helped a lot before,
During and after my stay. They answered nearly immediately and even organized a gas cylinder for my backpacking trip (because I arrived Saturday evening after closing hours of the local stores). The room was really nice, clean and had everything I needed! Thanks again for having me!

We stayed at Rockview for one night in beginning of May, we loved the central location in Portree with our room overlooking the water. Our room was cosy and tastefully decorated. Unfortunately we didn’t have the opportunity to try the breakfast that our host generously prepared, but we’d be sure to do so next time. You can tell hospitality is core for Mairi and Andrew, and we hope to be back in the future.

Portree is lovely. We visited in early may and the crowds were mostly manageable. I would be a little concerned in the heart of the season. My suggestion to the powers that be would be to consider shuttle busses to the popular sites from centralized collection points; discourage rental cars from driving to the sites independently in some way. The small roads and on-site car parks can become overly crowded. We couldn't get near Quiraing for the traffic on the winding one lane road. In all other respects, Skye and Portree are lovely and a pleasure to visit.

I only spent one night in Portree so my judgement is limited. Even before the tourist season started, it was quite crowded. I can’t imagine what it must be like at the height of the season. Skye is lovely but expensive compared to other locations in Scotland.

Very touristy not quite what we’d expected restaurants we sampled not as good as on the highlands NC500 so for us I wouldn’t do Skye in favour of the Highlands I’d spend longer on the NC500 west side.
Fabulous spacious room with superb view! Comfy, clean, tasteful, well looked after. Super friendly host! Loved all the little extras: a wee dram, variety of coffees in room, quirky/fun art/ornaments etc
Breakfast was delicious and pre ordered the night before- lots of options and included buffet items too.
Parking was very easy opposite the hotel and location great to easily access Portree itself, as well as a great base to explore Skye. We had 2 nights here and would highly recommend.
The best thing about this property are the hosts/managers Jayne and Jordan. They truly set the tone for our visit. They are very friendly and helpful and their focus is on ensuring the guests have the information they need to enjoy the Portree area and Skye generally. Jordan cooks an awesome breakfast while Jayne attends to your every need. They also ensure the rooms are spotless for their guests. We were honestly blown away by their focus on guest enjoyment. 10/10.
everything! Beautiful location, relaxing, and well equipped! Exceptionally clean!
A very short drive to Portree for shopping.
Watching the tides come and receded was soothing. It was wonderful to see the sheep, and numerous types of birds!
The unit is on the ground level of the host’s home so it would have been very easy to get assistance if it was needed.
The hosts were kind and considerate! If ever we return to the Isle of Skye we would be happy to stay there again!
Stunning view from this cozy little B&B. We had a loch view room (a generous & thoughtful upgrade from the hosts) that slept two people comfortably. The common area was cozy and tidy. The breakfasts were great and we appreciated a full meal before setting out for the day to explore the beautiful Isle of Skye. Convenient location, less than ten minutes into Portree. Easy self check in process. Just like the pictures. The hosts are kind and helpful.
The host were very friendly & welcoming. Our room was small but the beds & pillows were so comfortable we slept well. The breakfast was amazing so much choice & really delicious. You could easily walk into the Portree township 5 mins, there’s lots of restaurants & hotels to choose from for dinner or lunch.. But you do need to book in advance.
I would highly recommend Meadowbank guest house if staying in Portree.
By far and away the best accomodation of our 8 day trip to scotland. A huge room built by the side of the owners house and a fantastic cooked breakfast brought to you on a tray the next morning. Owners were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Dont hesitate to book this accomodation if you're visiting portree on the isle of skye.
A wonderful experience.
The view from the room over Portree harbour is fantastic. The breakfast is excellent and also the restaurant meal we had was superb, they even gave us a window seat with harbour views as it was our wedding anniversary. The staff are so friendly and attentive so if we’re ever back in Skye we will be booking this hotel again, wonderful!
Located in the centre of Portree with a good selection of bars and restaurants nearby. We had a spacious and comfortable room overlooking the square and breakfast was good. Staff were nice and welcoming. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was very popular even in March, and the food was excellent.
The hotel is a pleasant, traditional hotel on the banks of the loch, overlooking Portree harbour. Our room was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We eat in the restaurant 2 nights and the food was a little hit and miss. Mainly very good, but a few low points and a little expensive.
House was spacious warm and very comfortable. So well equipped and clean. Location 5 minutes from Portree Centre
Absolutely beautiful Loch on the doorstep-
Best restaurant in Skye is the Cuillin Hills Hotel with great views of the loch and is within walking distance from the house
This was a great place to stay on our Isle of Skye tour. The service for check-in and at the restaurant were superb. The room was beautiful, overlooking the bay. The included breakfast was tasty with lots of options to choose from. This is the perfect place in Portree.
Mery and Les were very good hosts, they gave us tips to access Portree, where to have the best ice-cream and which places to explore in Skye.
We were also very satisfied with our breakfast, and we had our first tattie scone in Scotland and it was delicious.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Isle of Skye camping pods. The space was a lot more spacious than I expected, and the toilet was a luxury for a camping pod. The grounds were clean, and the night time was extremely peaceful and pleasant.
It was a hidden gem on skye. Close enough to Portree but with spectacular view of the surrounding area. We were able to buy groceries in Portree and enjoy a lovely meal with all the supplied kitchen equipment taking in the views.
Staff was very kind and helpful. The athmosphere was very authentic and pleasant and it really added to our overall experience of being in Scotland. This is a highly recommendable hotel for anyone visiting Isle of Skye!
We loved staying in the Portree Hotel! Our room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and kind, and the food was delicious! We would definitely stay here again!
Quirkiness of buildings. Location in Skye. Private car park and paid parking available. We were very lucky to park in private car park belonging to Hotel.
Great staff. Obliging, very helpful.
Our room was so comfortable. The dining room had an amazing view of Portree and the food was delicious. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Skye.
I enjoyed the overall experience. So much so that when I come back to Skye I will again stay at the Royal Hotel.
