Ios Chora is the main town on the island of Ios.
Ios Chora is the main town on the island of Ios. It's full of friendly local people, and a mix of expats who have made their homes there, or who visit year after year because of the island's ambience. My stay was over the Easter period, which in itself is a marvelous opportunity to observe or partake in the ages-old traditions of the Greek Orthodox religion. plenty of bars and eating places, lots of shops selling different items. easy to get round chora but you can get lost but easy to find your way out locals are very helpful. restaurants visited in Ios around port Octopus Tree mainly fish the garlic prawns are exceptional; also prawn saganaki Enigma traditional Greek food lamb baked in pot amazing pork chop huge! Greek salad Tasaki home made bread. local rose wine very nice. Gyros place excellent various types of cheap!!! Tropicana bar good cocktails and have English football on big screen. Ios is a beautiful island.
Ios is a beautiful island. The beaches, the food, the people, the buildings, the scenery, the nightlife, the chill factor but most of all the overall vibe is the best of any of the Greek islands I have visited and I can’t wait to go back there. The boat trip taking you to the 6 beaches is amazing with snorkelling thrown in. The square and its bars is a must. Sunsets in various location are stunning and the local traditional restaurants provide amazing food at reasonable prices

October was a very out of season time to visit Ios, most bars, restaurants and shops were closed so there was not much to do in the main town. The buses had stopped doing all routes apart from 3 stops.

Chora is the only one village on the whole island, very pitoresc and full of small streets with lot of shops, bars and restaurants. There are a number of beaches on the Island, worth to visit and very good accessible by car. best of all for sure the Koumbara Bay with the perfect sunbeds and great service, not cheap but worth each penny!RichardRomania

Friendly barman (Odi) at pool area. Nice view from our upper terrace and a very good sized room.. The decor standard of the Apartment and Bathroom was first class and well above the norm for Greece. Proximity to the Port and Taverna's, shops and car hire. Room was so beautiful, pool area and breakfast was also very nice. Short 5 min walk into centre. We would stay here again for a much longer time on our next visit. The best meal we had in Greece was at a little place close by calles 7-11 open 7 days 11 hours a day. Definitely worth a stop this little island and White Lofts!

It was the best and more comfortable room we had in Greece. Nice style, recently refurbished, clean, great size - it was very nice to spend time in it.
