Our recent visit to Mombasa was delightful blend of history and tradition. The costal city, reach with historical significance, has managed to preserve its original traditions, offering a unique glimpse into its vibrant past.
A visit to Malindi was great idea. We absolutely loved Malindi for its tranquil atmosphere and well laid out city plan. There beautiful resorts for relax.
Next time we visit Kenyan we will ensure that we have enough cash to avoid unreasonable ATM transaction fees.

Great rustic city with lots to offer for all travelers.
Great rustic city with lots to offer for all travelers.
Being both Ramadhan and Easter weekend, we had different objectives for our stay. However, it is easier, and probably cheaper if in groups to travel by Tuk tuks (rickshaws) within and around the city.

I loved the tour of fort Jesus and the drive through Mombasa town. We had lunch at a place called char choma right on the beach front in Nyali, they have amazing barbecues. You definitely need a car to take you around Mombasa, anything less than that is not a good experience. Be careful with the locals, always ask the cost of their services before getting yourself involved. Google maps will be your best friend, it lets you know where the restaurants, shopping malls e.t.c are located.

Mombasa is HOT, and I love hot weather so it was fine for me. It is very peaceful, laid back place, and the people were very friendly. A simple NO to a street vendor was fine. We went to Nyali public beach, very nice.

Mombasa, a Kenyan metropolis, ensconced on the cusp of the...
Mombasa, a Kenyan metropolis, ensconced on the cusp of the Indian Ocean, proffered an experience both exhilarating and immersive. The city's historical tapestry, woven with threads of Portuguese, Arab, and British influences, manifested in its magnificent architecture, from the imposing Fort Jesus to the labyrinthine alleys of the Old Town.
My peregrinations led me through bustling marketplaces, where cacophonous haggling painted a vivid picture of the city's commercial heart. The vibrant hues of spices, the aromatic allure of freshly brewed Kenyan coffee, and the captivating calls of vendors all coalesced into an intoxicating sensory experience.
Beyond the urban hum, the pristine beaches beckoned, their silken sands fringed by turquoise waters. Indulging in the aquatic embrace of the Indian Ocean, I found solace in the rhythmic caress of the waves and the mesmerizing spectacle of the sun dipping below the horizon, casting an incandescent ember across the sky.
Mombasa's culinary scene tantalized my taste buds with an explosion of flavors. From the delicate nuances of Swahili cuisine to the fiery depths of Ethiopian stews, each meal was a revelation, a testament to the city's rich cultural heritage.
Departing Mombasa, I carried with me an indelible mosaic of memories – a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and flavors that forever etched this captivating coastal haven in my mind's eye.

Beautiful beaches, friendly people, great local food & the fruit is amazing We were away from CBD ( whose heavy traffic hours are crazy!), and enjoyed the slower pace nearer the beach areas. It's quite easy to get around Mombasa & to cross from the North to the South Coast areas & vice versa using the now very reliable ferry system. The little tuk tuk vehicles tend to be popular but fast paced drivers find them to be a nuisance
Apartment was really nice and big with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a very big kitchen with all facilities, two balconies. Julie was wonderful and very helpful host (Thank you Julie for everything), Very comfortable bed, nice decoration everywhere, Very clean although being in Kenya you have to be prepared, that leaving some food anywhere, brings the groups of ants. Good places for staying for longer time. Not very far from the beach, about 10-15 minutes walk.
All the staff, especially reception team and Yvonne. They converted my stay from average overnight to amazing experience I will never forget!
The hotel itself is fairly good for the price. Rooms have airco and nice clean beds.
Location is really convinient for visiting old town, breakfast is good with wide selection of some local dishes and european options like porridge and omelette. However it is rather expensive.
The 4 bedroom apartments are awesome! So spacious and enjoyable, overlooking the ocean from the balcony. Really good for a large family or 2 families staying together. No noise as other reviews have said, as the sea view apartments are behind the main hotel. The pool area was lovely too, and their fresh juices are to die for! Beach is not too busy and not many hawkers. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
Finally found a gem!! Top floor, the constant fresh breeze was refreshing. Way above expectations, secure, modern and lush. Location was perfect! close to mombasa cdb and nyali.
Was to check-in during the early morning and the keys we're conveniently left at the gate. The host went way above and beyond to ensure I had a enjoyable stay. As well as the caretaker who was very helpful.
Bar staff, especially Kamanda, Livingstone,Raymond were very good. They remembered our regular order and made an effort to get some peanuts, cashew nuts, crisps as I like to munch on something with a beer. I don't know why Mombasa hotels generally do not stock nuts at the beach bars but this is a common issue with all Mombasa beach hotels and you have to ask for them.
The buffy break fast
The location and internet
Cheap and best food at the restaurant
Nyali beach ⛱️ is like 10 minutes walk
Looks secure and quiet at night
The guy named Dan was so friendly and helping at all time
It's always warm that side so you can cool your self in the swimming pool though at times it's a bit busy
It's a nice place to be in Mombasa
On arrival the view of the hotel was impressive, albeit behind a secure gate and on a busy main road, I opted for Creek side view which I was pleased with for the quiet. Check in was a little bumpy but didn't wait too long in reception. Ensure you have plenty Kenyan shillings for tipping
Amazing host for starters. The place is well organized and very clean. Accessible to all facilities ranging from supermarket to a very nice gym. It's also very close to Kenyatta beach. If you're in Mombasa on vacation this is definitely the place to spend your time. Worth every cent.
The resort is easily accessible, a walking distance of the beach, and surrounded by other hotels. The room was spacious and had AC and a balcony.
The staff were very friendly. We enjoyed breakfast served in the hotel room.
Only 2 things I like about the hotel is that it’s close to the beach. You can walk straight down and be on the beach. Also there is a restaurant and bar on site which has live music during the evenings.
A luxurious and relaxing beachfront resort in Mombasa. The resort’s beautiful beach, stunning rooms, and excellent dining options make it an ideal destination for couples, families, and solo travelers.
The buffet breakfast didn't have so much options but was acceptable. The Location of the hotel is so close to the main Mombasa-Malindi rd and right on the beach. That was excellent
Friendly owner and staff, location (in the middle between city center and Bamburu beach). Good quality for 11 USD / night. My first accomodation in Kenya with a fan :-)
The facility is easily accessible, well maintained, situated very convenient to a supermatt, recreational facilities - wild waters, mamba village, Nyali beach.
