Very nice guesthouse, well maintained, with a beautiful garden and, above all, a very pleasant welcome. Dinner and breakfast were excellent. On the second day of our stay we took a day tour organized by the guesthouse. In retrospect, this was one of the most wonderful days of our four-week trip through Malaysia.

We've had an amazing stay (two nights). Friendly communication through WhatsApp. Our room was full of handy facilities: like for example coffee, world plug, two bottles of drinking water (received it again on our second day), fan and AC.
Our room was also clean. Oh yeah, you have your own private veranda outside. The location is also very quiet but close to the main streets (few minutes walking). It's also a few minutes walking to the drop off point of the minivan from Jerantut. Our bed was very comfy and you have a clothing rack outside to dry your wet clothes from the jungle trips :P

I got upgraded because the dorms were under renovation. The double room was very comfortable, even better for that price. The owners were very friendly, I got to eat with them in the evening.

Beautiful property, friendly owner, and good breakfasts! Our room was spacious and comfortable and had everything we needed. WiFi in the common space worked very well. Location is a bit outside of town, which we liked because it was so peaceful and gorgeous! We even saw hornbills at breakfast!!

Ann is such a lovely person. She's full of energy and feels like a hostel Mom. She's right there to give advice for adventures, and is extremely knowledgeable on the region. She makes the visit so much fun! The two of us ended up staying up super late one night, just talking about life. I want to go back!!!

The night hikes were back to back groups so with crowds and noise no chance of seeing animals. You definitely should bring your own torch as you can't see where you are stepping and there are some slippery spots. Personally wouldn't do again.
The canopy was nice albeit very narrow with only 4 allowed on it at a time. You are not allowed to stop or take photographs. Having to focus on my footing and not being able to stop and look makes it just going for a walk.
Going through the rapids and getting wet is accomplished by guide literally rocking boat.
The stop at village was the best part of trip. Fascinating how fire was started and the use of blow gun which we go to try.

Kuala Tahan is a nice little village with just a few shops and restaurants. But of course the main thing to do is to go to the national park. We choose to do a one day tour, which we really enjoyed. You cross the river and there is the entrance where you get your permit. They inform you about everything and everyone was very nice. I really recommend doing a tour because you learn a lot about nature and living in the rainforest. The canopy walk was also so beautiful! You can do some things on your own however, for most of the trails you need a guide to accompany you. There were some challenging parts about the hike. You need to be fit to hike up and down in the humid climate. But it was a very nice challenge and I would recommend it to everyone!
If you want to eat out I recommend the floating restaurants down by the river. The people are really friendly and welcoming and the food is good, for a fair price!

We stayed 3 nights and had 2 days to explore which was fine to do both some day and night walks in the jungle as well as a river trip to the small waterfall. Crossing the river to actually get to the jungle site is very easier. You just go down to one of the floating restaurants and ask them to take you across. Fees are fixed at 1 RMB per person. Your entrance permit is valid for all days so make sure to keep it with you at all times - also when doing river cruises.

Like the staff! All very nice and helpful.
Like the staff! All very nice and helpful. We also had laundry done for seven people and it came back in a day and was very clean and organized. You can book excursions right from the lodge. You can drink the water, so would have liked a large water container to fill up on our own. They left two small bottles a day, but that is not enough and we had to purchase water. Good selection at breakfast. Bathroom was always hot, as no windows, just open to the wild, so had to keep door closed at all times.

Love the jungle.
Love the jungle. Fab eco forest. 4 days would be enough as quite limited trails/walking. Small village that offered limited restaurants- 3 - and the 4 shops sell mostly the same limited stuff, so you do need to take supplies. No animals seen, they keep quiet which is fine, it’s their territory. It is quaint tho, and enjoyed my time there. Would certainly recommend a visit.
We booked this accommodation because our first choice accommodation was fully booked and were very happy that we landed here. The location was great (very quiet and far away from the location where most tourist stay when they want to visit the national park). We loved the noises from animals and insects coming from outside during the night. It was very convenient that transportation to the national park was offered by the hosts and we could be picked up anytime we wanted.
The activities available in the Taman Negara. We did the night walk, the aboriginal tribe visit + rapid shooting boat ride and the canopy walk. All the activities were excellent and would recommend taking a guide with on each of those as the insight they give was really good. This is because the guides grew up in the region, played in the jungle as children and know how it works.
It is “rustic “ but it’s in a great location and it has what you need. We were there for the National Park, so we weren’t that concerned with having fancy
accommodations. The people at front desk were very nice and friendly and they were cleaning the exterior all the time. It was secure and the air conditioning worked great. If you’re on a budget, it’s a good choice.
very nice stay and perfect for meeting other backpackers. ann and ila are taking care well of everything and of connecting people. the dorm is more like a little village with 18 robust sleeping chambers.
beside the usual toir packages ann had some real hiking opportunities on the list, though you need to have enough peoole.
top stay at kuala tahan..
+ Great location. Very walkable to the river, where you can cross to Taman Negara and where the floating restaurants are.
+ Swimming pool. The fact that it was there. Because we have a child. Children love pools.
+ Breakfast buffet. The fact that it was there. One care less in the morning. The quality was not that special though.
The room is clean modern design. Aircond works fine. The location is near to the Taman Negara gate. It's an alternative to the other resort in the forest.
The owner are able to guide you and arrange for the tour.
Mr. Rani, he is helpful. So does his family members. Appreciate it.
Clean room and bathroom, nice seating area outside as well. Staff were great and the location is a 2 minute walk to the national park entrance and restaurants. Coffee & biscuits were provided when we arrived which was such a nice touch. Really recommend for your stay in Taman Negara.
Very friendly host, with an amazingly located chalet/house. Located minutes away from the ferry to Taman Negara/Mutiara, in a beautiful, lush green garden. The room has all the basic necessities, not very luxurious, but very good price/quality ratio.
Decent accommodation in Kuala Tahan. It's near the river, where you cross over to the jungle. There is a lot of space around the property and it's quiet. There's large water bottles you can buy from them for only 2RM.
Loved our stay at Naura Homestay. Rooms were very clean and comfy. The homestay was within a 5 min. drive to the Tahan Ferry and hence very close to all the nearby hiking hotspots. two thumbs up!!
