It’s a home-stay style resort, u will experience very basic facilities and amenities(so do NOT expect too much with such price), sharing filtered drinking water and iron board with others outside the rooms. The scenery from my 3rd floor balcony is nice, enjoy the sun and cool breeze during the day and cats might jump in the room via balcony😅. Open air/semi-outdoor eatery space at the back of the premise. Personally I love the breakfast provided, although they served very simple local food(as some of the reviews complained about the variety of food but it’s perfectly fine for me even they served similar food every morning) e.g. fried noodles/beehoon, baked beans, sambal chili, delicious turmeric fried chicken, toasted bread with assorted jam, cornflakes with milk, coffee and tea, 1 type of fruit and 1 type of cake/ kueh. And each person can enjoy 2 eggs with requested cooking type, mayb sunny side up/omelette/…the friendly and smiley foreign worker will served directly to you once it done. One thing I must compliment and appreciate is the working attitude of the foreign workers, they are hardworking, friendly and helpful to my eyes. Actually the next day when we finished our half day tour and reached the resort about 1300, I found that my room had not been tidied up. The worker immediately do it for me although he looked like can’t really understand English when I tried to communicate with him.

A busy small town. Walks from the town are not that easy to walk to or great. You need taxi or tours to get to all the sites around the town. The town itself is a typical small hill town, now spoiled by too much development. The main street has lots of tourist shops and restaurants touting for business. The food offerings are good and varied.
It is a small town, walkable but traffic through the town, which is constant, spoils any chance of a peaceful atmosphere. As like most Malaysian towns, pedestrian walkways or crossings are really needed but not built. Public toilet facilities poor. The town is no jewel in the crown of the highlands unfortunately.

Tanah Rata is the main centre for exploring the Cameron Highlands. The main activities are walking in the nearby rainforest trails and taking a tour up to look at the lovely tea plantations in the area and then up to the moss forests up in the mountains (about 2000 metres above sea level). Take good rainwear!

Tanah Rada has a quiet environment.
Tanah Rada has a quiet environment. There are some garden houses left over from the British colonial period in the town, as well as many holiday homes. The front and back of the house are planted with exotic flowers and trees, just like the British spring and summer scenery.

There are plenty of food outlets here so don't have to worry about getting food. The local mall, Cameron Fair is still not filled up. There are many empty lots there for rent etc... We enjoyed the local market near Zenith hotel.

The main city with all you need can be obtained and available. All kind of food available. Also at the central point of Cameron Highlands. You can arrange what activities you need from here with banking facilities around
Staff was incredibly helpful in booking us a a land rover excursion, and helping with anything else we needed. I.e. late checkout etc. Breakfast was simple but good. Had the feeling of a hostel but called a hotel. Water in lobby and in rooms was great. Fan in room was great too, curtains kept out the light when we needed to sleep in... all in all it's a place to sleep near a small market, great Indian restaurant (Highland Spice) and the bus stop from KL.
A lovely place to stay when you are exploring the beautiful surroundings of the Cameron Highlands. The hotel is near the citycenter, so many restaurants are available. The staff was great and the breakfast too. Our rooms didn't had AC (we forgot to check) but because it was a little chilly in the area we didn't feel like needing them so it might be good to check the weather beforehand.
Fathers Guesthouse is the perfect place to stay in the Cameron Highlands. The rooms are comfortable and have all you need, plus the hotel has so much lounge and social space, with lovely seating and coffee/tea facilities outside. Staff are so helpful and kind and we really loved our stay.
Plus make sure to book your excursions with them. Their tour guides are super!

The view from uphill was sensational as it overlooked the local town. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and went above and beyond to organise tours and transport for us around the Cameron Highlands. Would highly recommend staying here for couples or families.

The receptionist is an absolute gem who helped plan our stay while in Cameron Highlands and recommended treks to us. Lockers are big so no issue storing large backpacks securely.
Location. It is near Tanah Rata Bus Terminal. Many eateries around. We had roti canai and tosai at 7am and left for the 8.30am bus to KL Sentral in good time.
