It is a clean, comfortable residence that is a short (4-5 min) walk to Jiufen walking street once you know the way. Air conditioning and dehumidifier all worked well and were necessary while we were there. Our communication with the butler was easy for all aspects of check-in, payment and check-out through WhatsApp. Instructional videos were helpful for everything!

This place is awesome. Communication was strong and easy via Whatsapp with the owners. The room itself was lovely and had a great view of the ocean. It was admittedly small, but cozy! The water pressure was strong and hot, AC and WiFi worked well. They even provided snacks!

It is close to the old streets. The staff was friendly and helpful.
love the night scene. Shops closes too early. Its a dead town after 7pm. The Gold Museum is too under-rated. Its so interesting & a wonderful place to just chill apart from the educational activities.

I would have rated this a 10 for stay if it was just a tad easier to locate. In saying that, once the property was located, the location was perfect. Host was lovely and highly recommend this place. A very cosy, clean and comfortable stay.

If you don't like crowded areas, Jiufen is not for you.
If you don't like crowded areas, Jiufen is not for you. The Jiufen old street is so narrow that you can only take some few mini steps at a time. If you were to come here, I'd suggest you to book your stay in Jiufen for the night, come in the late afternoon, perhaps go on the night walking tour, and then enjoy the views and Jiufen Old street in the early morning before all of the tourists come flooding in.

We went to Jiufen in January (winter time).
We went to Jiufen in January (winter time). As malaysians, we immensly enjoyed the milder temperatures and the lack of rain during this time, considering we came form a hot, humid country with torrential rain on a daily basis.
So, our timing for visiting Jiufen was perfect for us. Jiufen can be quite crowded at times but our stay at night made all the difference. less crowd, magical red lights and the night market was amazing. It was famous for the Amei teahouse but i think Jiufen is more than that. To find gems in other things, I'd recommend staying in Jiufen overnight.

The village is absolutely charming, only need one night here. In the evening it gets very busy but the teahouse (Jiufen teahouse) was very quiet. Lots of interesting food to try. Incredible views. Lots of hiking trails nearby. Easy to get a bus from Taipei there and back (and cheap) - you just tap on and tap off with your card.

As I strolled through the winding narrow lanes, surrounded by souvenir shops, traditional snacks, sweet treats, and Taiwanese cuisine restaurants, I found myself immersed in the charm of an old market perched atop the mountain with a breathtaking view of the bay on the north coast.
The bustling market came alive, especially during the late weekend mornings when the narrow lanes echoed with the footsteps of tourists. To savor the experience without the crowd, I recommend arriving early and soaking in the authentic atmosphere.
A must-try activity is settling into a cozy terrace seat, sipping on aromatic oolong tea while gazing out at the panoramic beauty of the bay area. The tranquility of the moment adds a touch of serenity to the vibrant surroundings.
Accessing this hidden gem is surprisingly easy via public transport. Opt for a bus from Ruifang train station or downtown Taipei, Zhongli train station, making the journey convenient and delightful. With just an hour's travel from downtown Taipei, this mountain-top market promises a memorable escape from the bustling city life, offering a perfect blend of culture, cuisine, and scenic beauty.
The room is very spacious, very very best view! The staff is very nice and warm, feel so touch when touch down at the hotel although it is raining heavily. Really thumbs up for the hotel, too bad too rush and not able enjoy the environment in the hotel. Definitely i will come back again! Location very easy to find, just a little bit far from JiuFen Old Street, although can climb staircase to reach, but we just opt for the bus and reach there within 2min🤣 when back time we only take the staircase to back hotel
The location was very strategic at the front of the Jiufen old street, before the crowds start, and it’s very near to the bus stop. The view from the room was spectacular. Mountains and sea both can be seen from the room window, and the common eating area at the top floor. The bed was incredibly comfortable compared to other hotels. The room and bathroom were very clean. Bath towels, toothbrush and other amenities were provided. The staffs were very friendly and recommended local food and attractions.
The location of the hotel is just minutes away from Jiufen Old Street! Really lovely and convenient.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful. We really appreciate it that they provide Halal breakfast for us. The breakfast was just superb and tasty. The rooms are very clean and we had an amazing view of the mountains and the sea. We could not ask for more. We will definitely come again. Thank you very much Happyland B&B for such a lovely stay.
Very clean property. Three comfortable beds, which was perfect for our family. Easy walking distance to Jiufen.
Had water (hot and cold) downstairs for us to drink, toothbrushes, and towels provided in the bathroom.
Owner was nice and gave us some suggestions for a couple things to walk and check out (a nearby park to overlook the town).
Check in and out was easy. Called number upon arrival and they were there within 5 minutes.
I love it has a warmth ambience and welcoming feels. Second and third floor area are amazingly beautiful and ZEN! Breakfast is good, the barley porridge and the pickles are perfectly match :) All in all, I had a pleasant stay.
Note. If you take bus or start walking from Jiufen Old Street, it would be lots of stairs, bring backpack would be more convenient, otherwise take taxi and it would drop you to the nearest point of the hotel.
This hotel is in a great location to visit Jiufen old street, the stairs down to the street are just a few steps away from the hotel. The reception area and common area are very nicely designed, and the common area has windows with an amazing view. We received a nice welcome snack of oolong tea and a matcha tea cake, and breakfast was really wonderful with an assortment of meats, vegetables, rolls, congee, and pickles.
Perfect location to juifen old street, even steep stairs. You can go to shopping at Jiufen old street both in evening and morning. That is good for shopper. There is breakfast that fit for one meal. The owner is friendly and kind. There is parking lot next to the hotel. You should call the hotel before you arrive to open the parking lot. The way up is quite steep and curved, there are a lot of cars after you.
Location : Close to Jiufen old street and Family Mart was just right under the homestay which I found very convenient. Homestay did not provide breakfast but offered coffee, tea and hot and cold water. The day we stayed it was very foggy after heavy rain so we didnot see any view from the hotel so could not recommend wheter it is good or bad.
The room has an unobstructed view of the hills. Since it is lower (below the Jiufen Old Street) there are no houses between you and the sea! The bathtub is very nice, private and has a view. There is also an outdoor balcony with a view. The apartment has lots of quirky touches.
Spacious rooms, nice hospitality from the staff.
As the hotel is not accessible by car, the staff messaged me to assist with biking our luggage up to hotel. Breakfast was very good. View was nice. Staff gave an introduction of Jiufen old street and where to take pictures
The homestay has many collections of kites and surrounded by hills and overseeing the north’s east coast has a scenic view, beautiful views of mountains and just near jiufen old street-a famous spot for small food stalls, tea houses, souvenir shops, etc
Great to have this option in Jiufen to be able to see the lantern-covered alleyways at night after everyone went home. The hostel is a bright, friendly space with a bustling common area and kitchen facilities.
The accommodation is located near Jiufen Old Street and many restaurants. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, they even prepared tea and moon cakes for us. The place was very neat and they comfy.
The host is so nice. He provided lots of information about how to navigate Jiufen old street. The host reply questions really quick . The sleeping areas are very clean.
The hotel is very atmospheric and tastefully decorated. The common area on the third floor offers a great view, and the terrace downstairs is a great place to relax.
