San Angelo, TX was just one stop on a 3-week road trip.
San Angelo, TX was just one stop on a 3-week road trip. We stayed 2 nights and didn't know what to expect about the town. We loved wandering around along the shady Concho River Walk and learning a bit of the history of the area. We spent the afternoon browsing in the Old Town Shops. It would make a great weekend getaway!

We only had Sunday for a visit so most of downtown was closed. Loved being so walkable to downtown and the dedicated riverwalk paths. When church got out The Twisted Burger got crowded so get there when they open at 11am. We walked a bit to Old Central Firehouse Pizzaria and were not disappointed. Nice outdoor dining, beer/cider/drink wall where you get to pour (and pay) for only what you want, so sampling is an option. We had the spicy pickle pizza and a limited time special with spicy bacon jam, cherry peppers and hot honey drizzle, on cauliflower crust, and both were great! No evidence of homeless in this area.

If you are going to visit someone at Angelo State University, this is a great location. Very close to campus and only one turn from the hotel to the dorm where my granddaughter lives. Very clean and comfortable hotel.

It's a nice town. My family are from there.
It's a nice town. My family are from there. I would even live there But I wouldn't call it a tourist destination. There is nothing there you really HAVE to see. I guess a visit to Old Fort Concho would be in order but don't go out of your way for it.

There's more to SA than meets the eye driving through.
There's more to SA than meets the eye driving through. I stayed at the wonderful Pearl of the Concho Best Western which has an amazing indoor pool, gaming area and playscape that would make a nice weekend vacay for a family. Sadly though, in walking the downtown, there's a huge need for revitalization as many of the building are abandoned and showing signs of decline.

Nice Town, should say City actually. Had small town feel.
Nice Town, should say City actually. Had small town feel.
Enjoyed their River Walk Park, Lots of Good Food places.
like any small cities long main drag full of your go to Business.
San Angelo, is not easy to get to if your driving,
You get lead off Main Highway, to Route 277 for an isolated drive for 85 mile to San Angelo.
The room is so pretty and arranged with detail to function. We had some friends meet us on outdoor patio the night of our stay and having the bar open to purchase drinks was great! The location to so many restaurants and shopping is ideal. Despite all the construction near-by, very quiet. Staff very knowledgeable and professional. Had a great chat with staff member the morning we were leaving that she was moving to Portland and leaving the hotel. You are losing a good and friendly employee. Sorry do not remember her name.
The stay was very bad cockaroaches , electric outlets where attached by duct tape, half the lights didn’t work, bare electrical wires, sticky floors, molded shower curtains, curtains was held up with bailing wire, no room telephone, and tv didn’t work , outdoor pool was green with algae growing in it , dirty sheets and comforters
The lady that was front office staff was amazing. Even with the reservation problem she really tried to make sure I got a room for the night and seemed genuinely sorry about my horrible payment experience with booking.com and the hotel
The most impressive thing about the hotel was the ladies on the front desk. Exceptional.
They presented themselves very well and were very courteous and friendly, true Texas hospitality.
A big selling point for me.
could not eat in the restaurant for breakfast. I didn't like that. If you stay in the Motel you had to get it to go. not what I consider a good deal.
I did like the size of the room and it was comfortable.
This hotel is awesome. All the employees are very friendly. The entire hotel is very nice and clean. We loved the room we stayed in. Beds are comfortable and the little kitchen has everything you need.
The staff was very nice and helpful. We only ended up staying here because our other hotel overbooked and had no rooms available. The front staff were very accommodating for out last-minute booking.
Free Breakfast!!! They had a establishment called Roxies separate from the hotel. Breakfast was free if you walked back to your room across the parking lot. If you paid you could stay and eat.
Newly refurbished rooms, great furnishing. There a not so many options for hotels in walking distance to the historic Downtown; but the Angoria seems to be the best option.
