My wife and I were pleasantly surprised by the Hyatt Place hotel. As ever, it is the staff that make the real difference. Fransisco, who works in the lobby was outstanding in providing warm, authentic and caring service. He was always there to welcome us back to the hotel at 'VIPs' and especially attentive and helpful on the day of our departure when we had to store luggage, prepare for our departure etc. The city of New York has been haracterised as somewhat 'unfriendly' - Fransisco and the team at this hotel did their very best to change this perception!

The staff is nice but the hotel has no breakfast all it is for breakfast is a coffee or juice and a banana or apple and a muffin the rooms the paint is peeling off the ceiling and the central air barely works nothing in the room to keep anything cold

The location is not bad as it is walkable to some attraction area. Also with the resort fees they charged per day, I get to use it against ordering food as a rebate (though the food isn't nice in the hotel so I have to keep sending money in the hotel each day to make use of the credit available and restricted the opportunity in dining out in the decent food around town)

Comfy bed. Not noisy. Room temperature good (Aircon not needed much during our stay - and opening window helped).
Staff helpful and friendly.
We tried to target non-busy peaks to avoid congestion at breakfast (basic cafeteria style) and lifts.
I felt safe in this hotel. Very quiet and just a walking distance to all these restaurants and stores. I was very impressed that it’s very clean and had no issues with noise. Stay here. You’re near the airport, shopping areas and it feels like you are in Egypt.

This place was dirty and the sheets were not clean, the fire alarm was not installed correctly and was not even activated, fire hazard. Room had trash on the floor underneath the bed so you know they don't clean thoroughly. The neighborhood is loud as heck at night even 2 am, which is not their fault but there wasnt any curtains to dampen the sound. Im sure that soundproofing was not even on their mind making the hotel.

Spotless clean, close to LaGuardia Airport, everything appeared brand new. Bed pillows and sheets fresh crisp and clean. Could see Manhattan out the window. Neat Morrican Neighborhood with little cafes restaurants and food carts.
