Shirin1892 is a lovely homestay surrounded by idyllic mountains and tea plantations. It's located about a 15 minute walk from the centre of Nuwara Eliya and 10 minute walk to Gregory Lake. The host, Asela is so friendly, helpful and accomodating and told us lots of stories and history about Nuwara Eliya and his family home. Our room was very big and comfortable and we had thick blankets for the colder nights. The home was like stepping back in time and it was so interesting to see the contrast of architecture, decor etc to homes in the rest of Sri Lanka. A very cosy ,peacefull ,relaxing and a well looked after property . Located within 5.1 km of Gregory Lake and 12 km of Hakgala Botanical Garden in Nuwara Eliya, Lily Bank Cottage features accommodation with seating area. We loved everything about this place. The rooms were clean, beds were extremely comfortable, food was great and beatiful bathroom so far our favorite place we stated in Sri Lanka. People who run this place were always making sure everyone was comfortable, had what needed and were happy. Loved our three nights stay here and would definitely return. We got tea and cookies on arrival which was very kind. Thank you ! Highly recommend it!

The view from the room was breathtaking. The housekeeper (Mr. Nalaka) was so nice and he’s the best housekeeper you could ask for. I would definitely visit here again.

This place is wonderful. The staff there are very good and hospitable. Will definitely choose this place next time also

Free WiFi access is available in the public areas of this chalet. -Very friendly and accommodating -kind and generous hosts -detailed clean and comfortable and spacious bathroom and bedroom -eveythjng felt like great quality -food was 10 out of 10 especially the organic salad picked from their own garden -great view of tea gardens -they did our Laundry in a short period of time -the location was great, it is quiet and away from the busy town
