This hotel is very current. The room on the front was noisy with traffic constantly flowing past. They didn't have a room free to move us.
The reception staff friendly , helpful and polite. I went to breakfast on 31/05/2024 although my itian is a little ropey. It was very clear the breakfast manager was rude to other members of staff. In fact he caused me great distress as I watched him screaming in a waitress face. He kept marching her off and back in again shouting. This was constant for the whole of the breakfast lasting over 45minutes.

Colourful and Captivating
Overlooking the Bay of Naples and with views of the Vesuvius volcano, Sorrento is a colourful town in Campania. According to the Greek legend, it was the land of the sirens that had the power to enchant with their singing.
The town of Sorrento has gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque architecture, and a big variety of restaurants, shops and cafés. Built around the 11th century, the Romanesque Cathedral of Sorrento is the city’s most important landmark. The charming Bell Tower with the beautiful majolica clock is the first thing that you will notice.

It is very hilly which I did expect so no surprise but getting about if you have mobility problems could be an issue. It is very busy even for May. The locals are very nice and friendly. Drinks and food are quite expensive generally and getting around can be expensive. If I were to come again I would recommend staying in the very centre of Sorrento and to avoid hotels with courtesy buses unless you are happy to walk or pay for extra taxis when the bus isn’t running at a time convenient for you. Most tours have free hotel pick ups but not all so check this when booking anything otherwise you could end up paying a fortune just getting to the meeting point! Overall a pretty place with lots to do but expensive. If you like seafood - visit Marina Grande and eat at Porto Marina restaurant. You can’t book but we went at 7.30 and had to wait 10 mins but they gave you a glass of wine while you waits. Beautiful place to watch the sunset and excellent seafood at a fairly reasonable price for Sorrento. I’d say the best meal we had in Sorrento.

Sorrento is beautiful with lovely shops and restaurants. The buildings are lovely too. Not that easy to get to beaches.
We're there for 3 weeks in May and temps ranged from 19 to 28c. Plenty of sunshine. A little rain but no great harm.

It is a wonderful location with plenty to do and good access to Pompeii and Herculaneum. It was busy in May so worth considering if you are traveling in July and August. Research your restaurants well. Many in the centre seemed ok but basic fare by Italian standards. Nalu Trattoria and Pizzeria da Franco were fantastic and are worth a visit.

It is beautiful but certainly geared towards extracting every last dollar from tourists. The service in some places was excellent, others not so much. I love the ancient connections and the buildings but having to pay for every little thing is tiring. Whilst I understand that paying to use a toilet is common... 1euro to use a poorly maintained toilet with barely any toilet paper, no toilet seat and a very abrupt person manning it... Not my idea of encouraging. In short, I can tick it off my bucket list but I would not bother going back.
My highlight was engaging with the artisans from Bimonte, who sculpt cameo's. Beautiful, friendly people who are also very talented and happy to share their craft knowledge.

Sorrento is not too big so a couple of days in the town is enough, but from Sorrento there is access to Capri, Amalfi Coast, Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculanium and Naples - so there are plenty of day trips. We ate at several bars and restaurants and they were all very good. We particularly liked the restaurant Leone Rosso and gelateria David - they are next to each other very close to the train station. We also ate at several places off Piazza Tasso. Can recommend the free walking tour by Guru Guides.

Sorrento is a small touristic place.
Sorrento is a small touristic place. It is peaceful with plenty of places and sights to see. It is clean and modern enough with advanced facilities and shops. There are plenty of hotels and accommodations to meet your budget and needs. Sorrento serves as a good spring board to use as a base to visit other famous places like the Capri Island, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii, and Naples. It's town bus service is easy to use. The trains run on schedule to take you to Pompeii and to Napoli Garibaldi station. In the train station, you can buy many guided tours and a 24 hour bus pass that will take you to the coastal towns of Amalfi, Positano and more.
The best part of the property is clearly the view and patio. One would not have such a great view of the Bay of Naples and Sorrento while staying in town, and the patio provides a large space for many people to relax and observe. The local village of Priora, with its lemon farms, is also quite charming and gives you more of a feel of rural Italy, despite the proximity to busy Sorrento. Sorrento itself is pretty accessible through a network of both public and private bus services, as well as taxis.
I liked the bed and pillows, it was super comfortable. The sea view was great. It was a bit noisy in the mornings, but I like it in Italy, it gives the right feeling. I chose this hotel because of the location, I visited Capri and later went to Positano by ferry. They do not write the platform number on the ticket, so ask for it when buying one. It was crowded in the centre, but quiet in the port in the evening which I liked after the busy day. Please note that the hotel has some stairs.
It is hard to imagine better place of Apartment localisation. We treated Sorrento as a point to explore this part of Italy (Amalfi Coast) and it was great decision. Apartment is very close to the buses and trains as well as to the main street in Sorrento with very rich offer of shops and restaurants. Room was very clean and design of room looked better in live than on the pictures. Host was very kind, helpful and responsive in any cases. Plus for keyless access to the room.
This was the best accommodation during our whole trip in Italy. Its within 6-minute walking distance to the Sorrentos city centre and its amazing port views. Regarding the apartment, all was superclean and designed with an excellent taste, bathroom included. The owner is a very nice lady who helped us with all we needed. The highlight was the royal breakfast, which we had on a balcony with a view. If you plan to visit Sorrento, definitely stay at NeroBianco :-)
The property was super clean and comfortable. The location was great. Everything in Sorrento was no more than 15 minutes walk (the station, the marine port, the center). Emily and her mother were super super helpful and nice. They speak great English and there was no problem with the communication. Furthermore, we had the best breakfast in a B&B in Italy, delivered every morning in our room at an hour we choose.
Checked all the boxes. The hotel provides transportation to and from town and used it. Special thanks to Rosela for her attention to our needs. Beautiful views of the Mediterranean from everywhere on the property. Pool is resort like and plenty of seating. Their restaurant is one of the best we dined at during our 3 weeks in Italy. We will definitely return to Da Gelsomina on a future return trip to Italy.
Very beautiful and unique place in among lemon groves. Fruit trees and roses in the garden and an amazing view from a terrace on the roof. Enza went above and beyond: she met us at the train station and gave us a ride to her property. Best breakfast we have had at a B&B during our entire stay in Italy!! Free shuttle to and from the property was great. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The location, 5 min away from the train station and 15 min away from Sorrento Central Station. The meals are very generous and include drinks and cocktails, which is very rare in Italy. At breakfast you could choose between like 15 differents types of pastries and a lot of other stuff. The bed was very confortable. The staff - very helpful and friendly and always smiling!
Perfect place to stay if you’re staying in Sorrento.
Close to everything you need, very clean. So many beautiful views. Host helped setting up taxi from port to train station. Host was very helpful with everything. This was our favorite stay in Italy from our whole trip. Breakfast every morning with a view. The staff was so lovely. Would love to come back here one day.
A highlight of our stay in Italy! Such a beautiful boutique hotel with so many thoughtful touches! Historic building with so much character, yet all modern amenities you may need. The service was wonderful and everyone was so pleasant and accommodating. Breakfast was outstanding and a ‘happy hour’ was a nice touch. The location could not have been better as well!
Perfect place near to the port in the city center. The room was nice and had everything you need. The breakfast was the best ever I had in Italy, different kinds of homemade food. Good coffee too. The hosts and the nice lady, who cleaned the rooms everyday, really everyone there were so really kind and helpfull. I can really recommemd this place.
The room was as shown in the photos - very well decorated and maintained - and definitely added to our overall experience of Sorrento. It was by far the most memorable hotel room that we stayed in during our two week stay across southern Italy. For whatever reason we were not expecting daily house keeping, so that was greatly appreciated!
The hotel had a perfect location, nice pool with a beautiful view. pleasantly surprised on how nice our room was. quad room had privacy door and two bathrooms. The staff was very friendly. Parking on site made our stay easier. breakfast plentiful. Out of 7 hotels we booked for Italy Rivage was the best.
Extraordinary views, fantastic room. Hotel was kind enough to offer a free upgrade. So nice that it was almost surreal to be there. Breakfast was terrific, from the food to that fantastic view (Vesuvius in the distance - bay of Napoli) The highlight of our two week trip in Italy
This was one of the best accommodations we had in our three weeks stay in Italy. The host is absolutely amazing and gave us lots of helpful tips. The property felt like a luxurious hotel room. Everything in the room had quality from linen, bath towels, shower products etc.
Our stay at this hotel was the highlight of our trip to Italy. I wouldn't change a thing. Great room, with a great view. Great location. Exceptional breakfast and really nice on-site restaurant. Staff is amazing. If we are ever in Sorrento again this will be our home.
Loved everything about this place! Beautiful little B&B. Short 10 minute walk to Sorrento center. Vanna and Mario are the most gracious hosts. Breakfast was excellent. Probably the best B&B we stayed at on our month long journey through Italy!
It was our starting location for southern Italy and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Beautiful location, beautiful friendly family run. It was an amazing start to our vacation.
Hotel is located in the middle of a beautiful park. Interior design and architecture are sofisticated and at the same time display a beach and south Italy vibe.
