A small, charming, clean town, with a lot of landscape variations. There's a castle, there's a large zoo in the forest up on the hill, there's a nice river, there's a dam, there's a large recreation complex called weekend, there's an old and a new rail station, and overall quiet and pleasant places to walk around. I recommend!

Pleasant city for walks.
Pleasant city for walks.
Went with the family at the end of april and the weather was gorgeous.
We saw:
- The zoo (6/10) - very big and lots of potential, but some animals were not kept well at all which made me very sad.
- The small othodox cathedral, Buna Vestire - very beautiful paintings(10/10)
- The big orthodox cathedral, Inaltarea Domnului - also beautiful (9/10)
- Târgu Mureș Fortress - free entry and very beautiful park inside, must see! (9/10) The local beer garden is a nice spot but the staff and serving were rude and ignored us, so I would avoid choosing that one and try a terase in the city center.
- The Palace of Culture - beautiful exterior but we found it closed
- Lots of museums to visit which looked appealing but were also closed due to bank holiday
- Bumbed into a local band free concert in the park (7/10)

The city is nice, the people are nice.
The city is nice, the people are nice. But mainly in the center. We found it to be less attractive than we expected. Pretty much all tourist attractions are grouped in the center.
There is a major lack of information regarding public transportation in the city and surroundings. Stops don’t have any posted names, hard to guess where are the stops except for the very central ones. Hard to find convenience stores.
People are willing to help but they are offering conflicting information.
In conclusion, the city/mayor gives the impression that they do not want/like tourists.
Restaurants we ate at were all fine. We had traditional local food, Italian, international at different places.
Hard to get around without own car, particularly for longer distances.
Very outdated and confusing/misleading information online.

I grew up here and haven't visited for two years and the general feeling I got was that it was a bit unkept. New cafes have opened with good coffee on offer. The city though feels clogged with cars and if I didn't have family to come to, I would not visit the it at all.

You can visit it for one or two days.
You can visit it for one or two days. There are some museums, yet they are under renovation and closed. The citadel is worth a visit, and you will find a doll museum inside of it. With more than 400 dolls. There is an excellent international guitar festival in August, worth-attending. So you can plan your visit accordingly. There are a couple of beautiful cathedrals, too.
The room was incredibly clean and modern, with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.
One of the best things about this hotel was the included parking, which made my stay even more convenient.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant to anyone looking for a great place to stay and eat delicious food. The location, cleanliness, and amenities make it a fantastic choice for both short and long-term stays.
Great Hotel 1km from the city centre at closed to one of the most famous Romanian restaurant: Laci Csarda, a restaurant a little bit expensive but with excellent food. The room was clean except for the carpet that cover all the floor. It's very big and with the air conditioner.
Pensiunea David was perfect for our 1 night stay in Targu Mures. The place is a 15 min walk to city center. The hosts are lovely people, we had a great time there. The rooms are super clean and decent size. We enjoyed the breakfast that was fresh and delicious.
It was clean, secure, quiet, and very comfortable. It was my first time in the city and Transylvania as someone from USA, i was a bit nervous picking a place but i found this place and glad to say It's the best place to stay in Targu Mures.
Very friendly staff, everyone was so nice and friendly, from the reception staff to the hotel manager.
Great view over the city center, delicious breakfast and comfortable room.
Overall a great experience
A well-maintained hotel. Generous and clean rooms. Large beds provide you with a restful sleep. Benevolent, professional staff. Good breakfast and dinner.
