Ideally set in Santo Domingo, HOSTAL BOUTIQUE 53 offers air-conditioned rooms, a terrace and free WiFi. This is a beautiful, secure boutique hotel with lovely rooms each decorated with taste and super comfortable beds. Hot water shower which was a treat as I didn’t even get that at the Radisson. The staff is very kind, helpful and accommodating in every way. It’s about a 15-20 min walk to the best parts of colonial city or a 3$ Uber. The roof terrasse is super nice and relaxing. Definitely a gem I would return and recommend in a heartbeat.

Set in a historic building in Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone, once home to a former president, the adult-only Casa Sanchez is within 1 minute's walk of Conde street. This place may be the best comfort/location/price deal you can get in the zona colonial. The staff is super nice, and I really appreciated their flexibility with my late booking(s) and late check-out. They have a lovely patio upstairs where you can chill / read/ stay (the rooms are quite dark). The availability of Netflix on the TV is a plus. The breakfast, which is included, is lovely and I appreciated the hot drinks station available all day. It's a typical zona colonial building with a ton of charm, special mention to the flamingo pool float! ;-) The code to enter the hotel at anytime is practical, and so is the absence of physical key (again a code) to enter your own room! I love the books at disposal, too.
