Area around the hotel was safe, although it doesn't look that appealing. It was easy to walk to key places in the city and easy to find transportation. We loved the communal kitchen where you can cook your own meals. Bar serves pizza at a reasonable price. If you need knives for cutting or anything extra the front desk will provide it!

The staff was absolutely lovely at this hotel. We have very little French but everyone spoke English and were very willing to help. We requested a room on a higher floor and they were happy to accommodate us. The location was perfect - quick walk from the bus station which we easily took in from the airport. Lovely boulangerie right across the street. We didn't eat the breakfast because of the accessibility of this and other cafes (but I'm sure it's lovely). The room was very clean - bed was so comfortable.. shower pressure amazing.
