The fireplace is the standout feature of this tent. The kitchenette features a refrigerator, kitchenware and a microwave. The remoteness and being right in the middle of the forest. The “tent” was clean with a wood burning stove or ac for cooling. The location is very remote and it’s a bit of a climb to get there but it’s well worth the effort.

The hosts were exceptionally welcoming and accommodating. They gave us an amazing Finnish breakfast that met our vegan and vegetarian needs, and seemed like it was done by a professional chef. The lakeside location of the whole complex is incredible, with a beautiful sunset over the lake to finish the evening. We wish we could have stayed longer!

This mobile home features a kitchenware, electric kettle and kitchenette. Located in Kontiolahti, 17 km from Joensuu, Motelli Kontio free WiFi throughout the property. Grill is awesome, very good rooms. Happy to get here again. And next year probably too.

This mobile home features a fireplace. Boasting 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom, this mobile home has a living room and terrace where you can relax. Really nice place! A clean cottage with a hot sauna next to the beach. You are able to go to the lake after sauna. Also there is a nice fireplace in the cottage. Wow! Amazing fireplace in the site for grilling, with a panoramic view (as it is eclosed by glass walls). Modern and minimal; Finnish style! All this aside, how kind and lovely the manager is.

This mobile home features a microwave and refrigerator. Please note that this cottage has no running water. Situated by Lake Pihlajavesi, this holiday village is 9 km from Punkaharju. The ambience of the place is what I liked the most here. A bit away from the highway by the lake amid the picturesque landscape of Punkaharju, the resort is among the perfect places if you are looking for a place to unwind. The Punkaharju ridge and the nature trails in Lusto area are just a few kilometres away - you can either walk or rent a bike from the reception. Apart from this, one can participate in a number of leisurely activities. The resort also has an aquatic park and rope park close by. For food you can visit their restaurant or even cook in the kitchen if you are camping. Talking of camping, they have quite a large area for pitching tent or parking caravan. Other options to stay include cottages. I stayed in one of the small economy cottages with two beds. It was decently size with a refrigerator and a microwave a couple of chairs outside. Given the size of the cottage it does not include any closet but has a shelf to keep stuffs. Finally, before I forget, I need to mention the staff who were very helpful and always served with a smile.
