Afsal made us feel so welcome. He has decorated the place with plants, incense and art, and the roof terrace is the perfect spot to meet other travellers and hang out. The beds were SO comfy and the rooms were lovely. Easy to get to the nature reserve and Afsal has all the recommendations on what the best tours are!

Featuring free WiFi and a barbecue, Ela Ecoland Nature Retreat offers pet-friendly accommodation in Kūmudi, 14 km from Munnar. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. The photos don't do this place justice. It's utterly stunning, immersed in nature, so peaceful and serene. All the rooms are located quite a ways away from one another so it feels very private. Lit up at night it is also stunning. The restaurant do beautiful meals and service staff are very kind and welcoming. We walked around the plantation and were shown cardamom, black pepper and coffee, as well as other wildlife. Sathya the manager was incredibly helpful, booking us tuktuk drivers and organising hikes with lovely men. He was on call 24hours a day, and made us feel so well looked after. We will definitely be back next time we're in India.
