Kellemes környezetben, a hegyek árnyékában található a hotel. A személyzet udvarias, kedves és segítőkész. Bármilyen kérdésünk, problémánk volt, abban rögtön a segítségünkre siettek. A szobánk egy hagyományosan berendezett japán stílusú szoba volt, kényelmes futon matracokkal, tradícionális japán yukata "pizsamákkal". Izgalmas volt kipróbálni ezt a fajta alvást, de biztosan állíthatom, hogy kényelmes és pihentető a padlón, matracon való alvás. A szállodán belül papucsban kell közlekedni, amit biztosítottak a számunkra. Az onsen férfi és női részre volt elválasztva, mindkettő izgalmas lmény volt. A külső onsen használatát javaslom, mert kellemesebb az időjárás, és hallani lehet a szálloda mellett csörgedező patak morajlását, a természet hangjait. Az onsenbe való belépés előtt le kell fürödni, ez gyerekkel kicsit körülményes volt, de megoldottuk! A szálláshely második szintjén társalgó van, könyvekkel, társasjátékokkal és egy kitűnően felszerelt konyhával, ahol bárki elkészítheti a saját ételét.

Beautiful property, beautiful area, very relaxing private onsen and wonderful staff. A nice breakfast to be enjoyed in the morning as well. The rooms are super comfortable and spacious. The staff are super friendly, the owner (I think) even drove us to one of the stations as we were leaving, we had far too much luggage at this point in our trip and it was challenging for us.

Awesome place to stay at during your trip to Hakone! The Irori dinner (absolutely do book this!) was a fun experience and we enjoyed meeting other travellers. The staff were very helpful and accommodating during our stay. Our cozy little attic bedroom was clean and very comfy to sleep in despite the cold autumn weather <3 The shared facilities were clean and the common area nice and lively!

Amazing hosts, very welcoming and very helpful. They gave us clear instructions to reach the place and also explained everything we could do during our stay. The room was big, very comfortable and very quiet. We had a great stay!

The staff were very friendly; the beds were cosy, comfortable and large. The lockers were also big and there were toiletries available in the shower. They gave good advice on where to eat and which onsen were tattoo friendly. It's a really funky hostel and I loved it.

Location was easy to find from the bus we took from the train station. The hostel was exactly what we wanted, and the staff were incredibly friendly and easy to get a long with. They directed us to the nearest Onsen that would be open late, and lent us some bicycles so we could cycle there through the peaceful town. The on-site bar was one of the nicest i've been in and the cocktails were excellent, we had to try every option available. The owner and bar staff were great fun and we had a great evening with their hospitality. We wish we could have stayed another night! Good transport connections to the local attractions, and the owner made some excellent suggestions on where we should visit. Could not recommend the place more. A highlight of our trip for sure and we wish everyone at Root Hakone the best.

The accommodation was in a good location right next to the train station for transport to arrive into Hakone and to get buses to Lake Ashi/Mt Kintoki area, for restaurants an shops. The beds were mats on the floor and were very comfortable. We used the onsen during our stay which was a lovely experience. We recommend a stay here. The staff were very helpful and kind.
