Shree Krishna Bhakti Ashram is a recently renovated guest house in Vrindāvan, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is set 47 km from Bharatpur Railway Station. I write this review from a specific perspective — I had arrived in Vrindavan with a group but then stayed a few days on my own. I have been to Vrindavan previously but I was a little nervous about staying solo as a western woman… Vraja can present some challenges for us in regards to attracting attention, even if you are an experienced devotee. I usually stay at MVT so I can walk directly to ISKCON by myself, but it was full and I am SO GLAD I found Shree Krishna Bhakti Ashram instead! It perfectly threads the needle between having comfortable rooms and being peaceful and still in the center of Vrindavan, with the real spirit of Vrindavan and not like some of the newer developments. “Ashram” conjures up thoughts of austerities — and on the same trip I stayed alone in a Math that I couldn’t handle alone… but the rooms here are incredibly comfortable and provide things that seem luxurious in an ashram, especially for the price. I had a king-sized bed with comfortable mattresses, multiple pillows, and duvets — no fuzzy brown blankets … A wardrobe, a table and chairs for sitting, a KETTLE and tea/coffee cups with some hot drink packets and even digestive biscuits!!! Also an amazing ceiling fan, real towels in the washroom, a shower head providing hot water with water pressure instead of a bucket… etc. There’s even a TV with cable, I believe, but I did not get a chance to use it. there’s also an enclosed colonial-style veranda looking out onto a lawn which is a peaceful place to enjoy your beverage. The ashram features a small temple in the back which seems to offer small aartis daily, but this really seemed like more of a guest house than a residential ashram. anyways here is why you should choose this place as a solo woman — there is always security and the staff are AMAZING and super helpful! I booked specifically based on other Booking reviews that expressed this.

There is a private entrance at the homestay for the convenience of those who stay. The homestay offers a restaurant serving American cuisine, as well as free WiFi throughout the property. Ada is such a gentle guy. First he let me arrive earlier in the morning to stay inside, it basically saved me cause else there would be anywhere to go that time. And when I checked out, he helped me getting an auto to where I was going. Also helped with tips for my travel to Agra and recommended restaurants. The house is beautiful and the room/bathroom are clean. Room is comfy, not cold and there was hot water, but for bucket bath. Wifi is also pretty good. They gave me a towel, a bottle of water and some soaps and other bath stuff, and a flip-flop. I recommend.

We were lucky to stay at Anand Kanan during our 3-day trip to Varanasi. Both of us were in Varanasi for the first time. The experience on the streets with all the colors,sounds and smells can be intense, so it was very good to have a quiet safe home where we can just come and rest. Rooms are comfortable and clean, and it was great to have a restaurant inside where the food was good and we didnt need to put extra effort to find a good place to eat if we felt tired. It was a great pleasure to meet the owner of the hotel, Arvind. We enjoyed his welcome tea and great conversation about Indian philosophy and Varanasi.

Homemade Breakfast was the best we have had, super tasty. we arrived very early morning and he welcomed us to his home nonetheless offering us tea and coffee. A truly welcoming Indian family, no doubt 10 on 10!
