If you have a reasonable level of fitness, do the "Gocta...
If you have a reasonable level of fitness, do the "Gocta Completa". This approximately 20km hike lets you get to the bottom of the upper falls and then descends a lovely ridge to a spectacular view of the lower falls and also lets you traverse between the two nice towns of Cocachimba and San Pablo. Trails are a bit muddy as you would expect in a jungle climate, but well maintained.

Such a beautiful and peaceful area, the accommodation was very comfortable, clean, and luxurious. Breakfast was made to order by an onsite cook. Bathroom was nice and clean, soap is provided. Location is great - right beside the trail leading to the Gocta waterfall. All in all I highly recommend.

It was quiet and peaceful, set apart from other hotels, but within an easy walk to Cocachimba. The food was amazing, and they gave us different options to choose from each day. Watching hummingbirds flit around while drinking coffee and looking out at the waterfall each morning was a highlight of our time in Peru. Probably the best location in Cocachimba, with a views right over the mountains and the Gocta waterfalls. Clean room, good bed, hot water. Santiago was a real gem, helping us with all we needed and he took us everywhere we wanted to go in his mototaxi. Breakfast was served elsewhere, because the breakfast lady was on holidays. Really wanted to stay longer!

The people who run the place make you feel like family, the breakfast is made with love, the room is clean with everyday clean towels and the view is amazing.. breathtaking. Out of bed you see the famous gocta waterfall. The trail to the waterfall starts right next to the homestay and is pretty heavy but beautiful!
