Everything was perfect, the hotel is a jewel and maybe the best experience in booking and sure the best cost/quality experience. The staff help us to organize excursions, breakfast ok.

Located in Yuncheng, 26 km from Yuncheng North Railway Station, Yuncheng Yunxi Furusato-Banma Resort provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness centre and a... Friendly and polite staff, very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious dishes at affordable prices. It is the perfect place to relax for the weekend. The Guandi Family Temple is only a 10min walk from the property, very easy to reach and totally worth the visit. As for other tourism attractions although a bit far, the hotel can recommend drivers and the prices are acceptable.

Situated in Pingyao, 700 metres from Ji's Old Residence, Elsewhere Hotel Leifu Branch Pingyao features air-conditioned accommodation and a terrace. The Elsewhere hotel was a little gem: it felt like were were staying at one of the ancient buildings we saw around town, while still having the comfort of a modern hotel room. I would recommend accepting the pick up service offered from the train station, since it's quite far from the hotel: we were greeted by Alice, who spoke excellent English and who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, even booking the tickets for the city's attractions with her own phone and account when mine didn't want to cooperate. We went to Ping Yao to experience ancient China, and came away with the experience of a lifetime.

Excellent and super attentive customer service, beautiful decoration and interior design, location is perfect to explore the area, delicious and healthy breakfast. Housed in a traditional courtyard property with a 300-year history, Pingyao Yide offers Chinese-style rooms with hand-made fine wood fittings and artwork. Yide Hotel was incredibly beautiful and serene! The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I emailed across my arrival train and they arranged (for a very small sum!) for me to be picked up- the same on the way back to Pingyaogucheng, which was immensely helpful. On the day I arrived I happened to get an upgrade on my room- can't be guaranteed, but was great. The breakfast was delicious- I had a lovely tea, scrambled eggs and toast. There were many more options and it was unlimited in how much you had! They gave me a useful map and talked me through the top sites to see. Overall a brilliant stay.

Fairfield by Marriott Taiyuan South features free bikes, fitness centre, a shared lounge and restaurant in Taiyuan. Large, spacious rooms with warm showers. Internet was fast, breakfast was not bad, and is just 50m from Taiyuan South train station.

You are in the heart of the ancient city. The light and sound show is almost next door. Arranged complimentary pick up from station and drop off at station. We would have missed the light and sound show if not their coffee shop staff had not advised us. They also gave us beautiful mementoes when we were leaving.
