Djorff Palace

Hotel in West bank, Luxor

Djorff Palace has an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a terrace and restaurant in Luxor. You can stay at different kinds of accommodation while travelling - all from hostels to luxurious hotels. And then there is Djorff which will excel most of them, no matter what they offer! The design makes you think of Tales from the Arabian Nights - especially if you will be lucky enough to stay there during full moon. The decor is unique for each room which makes the experience one of a kind. What is important is that the way it is built does not allow the rooms to warm up. They are naturally cool which is a blessing in the scorching heat. Get a refreshing dip in the pool and don't forget to dine at the adjacent restaurant. The food is exquisite and based on really good recipes, mostly from the Middle East. As Djorff is set on the west bank, you are not far from Luxor (thanks to the boat which will carry you over the Nile) but far enough to let you escape the city noise. Staff are lovely na do their best to make you feel as comfortable as possible. And then there is Marina - the charismatic owner who has all the answers about your stay in Luxor. Marina will help you organise your day, get you a driver and - if she has some time and you're willing to listen - she will share one or two remarkable stories from her life. Staying there made me feel somehwat as if I was part of a 1940s-1950s novel or movie. I extended my stay and I am very happy I did so. People sometimes say they are coming back out of politeness but I AM definitely coming back!

Nile Roof Hotel& Restaurant

Hotel in West bank, Luxor

Featuring a garden, terrace, restaurant and free WiFi, Nile Roof Hotel& Restaurant is located in Luxor, 3.1 km from Colossi of Memnon and 4.1 km from Medinet Habu Temple. The BEST hotel manager you can ever meet! Hassan is an incredible person who genuinely cares about his guests and tries to make them happy in every possible way. This is a kind of place where you artive as a guest and leave as a friend. Hassan's commitment to his guests is truly inspiring. He is always available for any questions and advice, and yet is always diplomatic and soft-spoken. Hassan also has a great sense of humour and talking with him is always a delight, in addition - his English language skills are fantastic. The hotel is located near the ferry dock and sees quite a bit of traffic - you are going to experience a real part of Luxor. It is a great place to stay for independent travellers who are looking for an authentic experience without tourist crowds. The rooms are basic, but super clean and very spacious, the linen and towels are all clean and fresh; the beds, pillows and blankets are very comfortable as well. You also have a very kind employee Mohammed to look after you - he is always helpful, attentive, and does a great job keeping everything clean and safe. The price for this place is also excellent. The hotel has a large rooftop terrace for sweeping views over the Nile. This is also where a lunch bufet is available frim 11a.m. to 3 p.m. We tried the food there, and were also very happy with the selection, price, and attitude. Yes, we were VERY happy with this hotel team, and could HIGHLY RECOMMEND it to those travellers who appreciate a genuine local hospitality!

Rose Guest House

Hotel in West bank, Luxor

Located in Luxor, less than 1 km from Medinet Habu Temple, Rose Guest House provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Everything about the Pharaonic Rose was perfect. I spent some of the happiest days of my life in Luxor thanks in no small part to the Pharaonic Rose. They have a rooftop with a view of the cliffs and Medinet Habu. The seating area downstairs is shady and in an oasis of a garden. It's very close to Medinet Habu, but far enough away that it is very quiet. It was so nice to have a quiet and peaceful place to return to after the bustle of the tourist areas. The food was amazing. They would just pile heaps of delicious food in front of you. The breakfast was the best I had in Egypt and they can prepare lunch and dinner for you as well. They also organized very affordable transportation for reaching different sites in the area. The family that runs the Pharaonic Rose is extremely kind and welcoming. By the end of the stay I felt like part of the family and the Pharaonic Rose felt like home. To get all that for such a reasonable price is unbelievable! It was truly a once in a lifetime experience. If you are going to Luxor, stay here.

Nour El Balad

Hotel in West bank, Luxor

Located directly next to Madinet Habou Temple, Nour El Balad is located in Luxor. Wi-Fi access is available. It offers mud brick houses with cosy and traditional rooms nestled in a palm grove. It’s like visiting a family, warm welcome, relaxed vibe and extremely helpful owners. We received all the possible help and felt cared about. It also felt like being an explorer staying in a very authentic Egyptian house. The room was very specious and the home made breakfast was lovely. The owner is a heartwarming person who has a wide network and is able to organize everything in Luxor (taxi, hot air ballon, and I’m sure the list doesn’t end here). It’s also very important to highlight that the location is very quiet, we managed to get a rest from noisy Egyptian streets and slept like newborns. Strongly recommend!
