Even Head Chef comes out to greet us, and make personal recommendations, even certain request that was not on the menu as we are vegetarians. The rooms are comfy and we got a nice upgrade of the best view to River Nile and Philae Temple. There's also free boat shuttles to mainland and the hotel.

Located in the Nubian Desert on the banks of the Nile, opposite Elephantine Island, Sofitel Legend Old Cataract offers elegant rooms and suites. It features outdoor and indoor pools. I would like to say the pictures of the hotel are beautiful and great on the internet, but you have to experience this hotel in person. The wonderful staff from driving up to the hotel gates are amazing and classy. So where can I start with this dream vacation of me and my wife. The security team and Mr. Mustafa was courteous from the check-in. We later entered the beautiful garden and reception area and was greeted by Mohammed Khaled. He was the best and treated us well from the beginning of our visit until the last day. My wife became slightly ill on one of our day's visiting this historical hotel. He sent out help to retrieve the necessary medication so her and I can continue our dream vacation. It so many things to list but the great restuarant staff is top shelf. The great Chef Mr. Zackariya and staff entertained our taste buds with wonderful meals on our entire stay. We recommend visiting The Catarat Hotel and plan to visit again in the future.

Aya, was able to get us great deals on excursion trips and arranged everything perfectly to fit our timetable. Breakfast was wonderful and had a great view from the rooftop hotel. Also the barbecue for lunch was delicious.
