Nestled in a wooded valley, Gidleigh Park boasts 107 acres of mature grounds, within the wilds of Dartmoor. With an award winning restaurant, this estate is just 6 minutes’ drive from Chagford. Everything! We were so sad to leave. We love travel so have stayed in some amazing hotels across the world (including other Relais & Chateaux properties), but after our stay at Gidleigh Park, we realized this might have been the BEST hotel ever - even including some very special Japanese ryokans. What made it so wonderful: - The staff were all so genuinely nice. We had a lot of odd requests (since I’m pregnant and my husband has very specific dietary preferences), and I’m sure they secretly thought we were total weirdos, but they did a great job covering this up - no request was too strange! Examples: 1.) my husband became addicted to Innocent smoothies during our stay in England and insisted on having some every day (…even in a Michelin-starred hotel), so they kept them in the fridge for us and brought out the bottles whenever he wanted to pour a glass; 2.) I went down each morning to have breakfast but my husband prefers to sleep in, so I would request a takeaway homemade croissant for him. This request alone wasn’t too bad perhaps, but the croissants were so good warmed up, so we would later request to have them warmed right before he ate them - which they kindly did… - The food is SUPERB - I could’ve eaten for weeks straight just at the casual lounge (we’d normally try the formal restaurant too, but saving this for next time when I have fewer pregnancy food restrictions, to fully enjoy!). Best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had, with perfectly poached golden-orange yolks (I’ve only ever seen such perfect eggs before in Japan), sumptuous afternoon tea, truffled cheese soufflé, really good strong pots of Earl Grey and Mini Pu Erh Cake (!) tea, amazing fresh fish and brothy beans… all in a cozy casual living room/conservatory setting where they let you open the patio doors, or sit outdoors (very nice if you’re being extra Covid-cautious while pregnant like me)!

Every meal was delicious, and they were extremely cautious and accommodating toward allergies and dietary restrictions. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

East Dart Inn está en Yelverton, a 31 km de Hipódromo de Newton Abbot, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, restaurante y bar. A beautifully renovated pub in the middle of Dartmoor with extremely friendly staff that made the pub nights a true experience. Many details to make our stay even more pleasant: free towels for wet dogs, a separate room with pool table and darts, really dog-friendly people (that love presenting their personal ´pooch of the week´ on their facebook and instagram sites), the family atmosphere you can feel all over the house and also outside in the beer garden. Right next to the house, you can start endless walks through the national park, with all its ponies and sheep and historic monuments.

Station House, Dartmoor and Coast located, Village centre Hotel se encuentra en South Brent, a 29 km de Hipódromo de Newton Abbot, y ofrece salón de uso común, habitaciones libres de humo, wifi gratis... Clean, tidy, themed, great location. Atmosphere was great, quiet and very helpful team.

The Moorland Hotel, Haytor, Devon dispone de jardín, salón de uso común, terraza y restaurante en Haytor. Este hotel de 4 estrellas ofrece servicio de habitaciones, recepción 24 horas y wifi gratis. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely out of this world. The room was incredibly comfortable and there was great attention to detail. The location was stunning.

Esta casa solariega del siglo XII se encuentra en unos jardines privados de 1,6 hectáreas, en una bonita localidad de Devonshire, en torno al famoso menhir de South Zeal. Breakfast was very good, eggs, toast and smoked kippers with strong hot coffee. The history of Oxenham Arms is amazing. So many fascinating figures have stayed here. One of our hosts, John, was full of facts and anecdotes, obviously very proud of the place! We took his advice on a hike nearby and it was one of the highlights of our UK trip.

El Mill End Hotel está situado junto al parque nacional de Dartmoor y ofrece un restaurante creativo, habitaciones elegantes y conexión Wi-Fi gratuita. Staff very courteous and outgoing. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, including quality of food and service. Property attracts like minded guests, at least while we were there.
