Featuring free WiFi and a restaurant, Maryfield House Hotel offers accommodation in Bressay. The hotel has a terrace and views of the sea, and guests can enjoy a meal at the on-site restaurant. Everything! The owners and staff were warm and friendly, our room was large, comfortable and well-appointed. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious. Our four night stay was the highlight of our two week visit to Scotland.

Very sweet and helpfull staff, much more welcoming than ever expected. Clean room, comfortable bed. Hotel has a restaurant with possibility of breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is great because list of options for eating out in Shetlands is not very big. Food selection is little old fashioned but food was done well.

In the heart of Shetland, St Magnus Bay Hotel is set in beautiful, tranquil surroundings. It was once frequented by W. H. Auden and Christopher Isherwood, the poet and playwright. Everything. This is the first time in many years that I can say I loved everything: location, food, room and above all the people. They are kind, friendly and keen to look after you. As this was my solo trip abd without car, I was apprenhensive that I may not be able to see things around. But Andrea made sure I do. Wilma took me to Eshaness and Stenness in her car and oh, what a place. Breathtaking. We also went to the fire festival which was held for the Tall ships race and experienced the Vikings in full swing. Shetland and mote specifically St. Magnus made my stay worthwhile. Thank you so much.

Offering free WiFi throughout the property, Queens Hotel is set in Lerwick, within a few steps of Bain's Beach. The nearest airport is Sumburgh Airport, 42 km from the hotel. It is perfectly situated. This grand beautiful historic building is being renovated by the present owners. I had a room with a sea view which was magnificent. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. I loved the towel warmer and excellent water pressure in the shower. The staff were amazing. Sam, the owner’s son, went above the call of duty to provide towels and vacuum the sand I tracked into the room. Harvey, the owner, was fantastic! He even gave me a ride to the bus station. If you are interested in historic preservation this is the hotel for you. It sits actually into the sea next to Bain’s Beach. I had a fabulous week at the Queens Hotel.

Set in Lerwick, 600 metres from Bain's Beach, Islesburgh House Hostel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. It’s a rare thing that holiday stays happen to be this amazing 😍 everything in Islesburgh House Hostel was exceptional. The hostel and Community Centre team are warm, happy to chat and eager to advise and help in anything, making guests really feel welcome. The building is simply beautiful, a huge victorian house, trim woodwork, clean and cosy with lots of common areas like a dining room, lounge or a quiet corner for reading. The kitchen is spotless, very spacious and well equipped. I had a bedroom with an en suite, although the shared bathrooms and showers seemed very comfortable as well and there were many. It’s in a very central location in Lerwick, 10 minutes walk from the town centre, 5 minutes walk from a beautiful bay, and the area is also quiet and picturesque with other victorian buildings around. This place has an absolutely unique atmosphere :) I just left, already miss it and hope to visit again in some time in the future :)
