Enjoy sea views, varied cuisine and helpful, friendly staff at this comfortable hotel on Eastbourne’s seafront. it’s very well managed and the staff are uniformly terrific.

The Lookout Rye is in the centre of the historical town of Rye, high on the East Cliff with views across the river. It has free Wi-Fi and paid parking. I was fortunate to stay in one of the refurbished bedrooms- tastefully decorated and warm.

Set amid 38 acres of woodland and gardens, 3 miles away from the historic towns of Hastings and Battle in East Sussex, the hotel is an ideal base to explore 1066 country. Both breakfast and dinner were lovely. Room was amazing.

Chalk Farm LDC is situated in Willingdon in Eastbourne, 28 km from Brighton & Hove. The hotel has a sun terrace and views of the garden, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. Everything from the room, to the staff was lovely
